Gerardo Posted October 19, 2006 Share Posted October 19, 2006 I've been able to disable my windows firewall before after a clean isntall of windows, but today i did a fresh install of windows xp and have updated to the latest updates and drivers... then i went to disable the firewall but it wont let me... does anyone know how to fix this? conan_2000 Posted October 19, 2006 Share Posted October 19, 2006 Go to the start menu, click on run, type services.msc and disable the windows firewall/internet connection sharing service. Joe User 99 Posted October 19, 2006 Share Posted October 19, 2006 Notice how in the picture, it says "For your security, some settings are controlled by Group Policy"? That is why it is disabled. If you are on a domain, then it is the domain policy, if not, try going into the Group Policy Editor on your pc and disabling those settings. If that doesn't work, you can delete them out of the registry.
