To SFkilla :

It's NOT the file.. Mate!! It's the link..

When you click on the link on your site, there's several fake "pop up" windows all over the screen warning about virus.. When you try to close them the normal way, both my virus programs goes nuts..

That's why I post this warning.. And NOT to descredit your work..

Shaddowdk

Unless somebody else tells me the same.... i don't think so... I asked many friend from around the globe to connect on my board and some of them have big anti virus stuff... but nobody has popups or anything else...

By the way... its nothing personal... i've been checking all since you said this.

Thanks for telling me anyway ;)

Non taken..

As you can see in the first "warning" from me, I made a visit on your site 08:10 this morning..

When I entered the site (sendspace.com) I was attacked by several fake popup warning windows, and on close I had virus-alert on my computer.. (Pity I didn't had the time to "printscreen".)

I just did another visit and this time it went smooth.. :) Only commercials..

I have downloaded your file and it looks very nice..

Thanks for sharing.. :) Nice work..

Hmm...no pop-ups or virus warnings for my download...however, when trying to use the Single MultiMeter, I get the following message:

A Runtime Error has occurred.

Do you wish to Debug?

Line:88

Error: 'twoCpu.usagePercentage' is null or not an object

So, in thinking that you might have confused the files, I downloaded the MultiMeter D gadget, and I get a similar error:

A Runtime Error has occurred.

Do you wish to Debug?

Line:97

Error: 'twoCpu.usagePercentage' is null or not an object

Both Gadgets sit in the Sidebar and do nothing.

The CPU Meter Single also throws a Runtime Error in Line 77, but will run after closing the message box.

The HDD Meter and the stand-alone CPU Meter (after clearing the runtime error mentioned), however, work just fine

Please note that the system is running RC2.

Thanks for telling this.... i will check it out... i'm making those gadgets in Vista RC2 by the way... i didn't have any run time error untill now, even that i mixed up the original cpu meter from the sidebar + all the meters i made at the same time and all went fine ( tested around 3h with all on and me changing things with photoshop cs2, visual web developper and wmp11 ) It seemed all very stable to me. I also tested on my girls machine and same story there.

Its also true that from one RC2 installation to the other, i had different situations ;)

It very nice of you to putt the information about your errors, it will be easier for me to check things out... I let you know if i find something ( i regularly update so it won't take long )

Can you tell me if you have a single or dual core cpu? ( i have a single core but dual thread (HT))

Thanks to all for trying out all this ;)

Stay tuned :)

I still wonder why you pack you gadget like that...

All the gadgets i've got has always been packed in abscure ways so i made all my gadgets very simple and clickable to self install.

And did it with yours too so here is the link please put them up instead of packing down a rar in rar.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/gisuw9

ANd there is some runtime errors in both gadgets.

houla houla..... i'm new to this and i'm testing ( i already tryed to make it an easy install but it doesn't work ) what i tryed is this:

Compress the folder with winrar with the extension .gadget (untill than all good) it shows the nice little installable icon (clock etc) but when i double click on it... it gives me an error!

How do you make the folder an installable sidebar gadget???

Thanks for helping out :)

Edit2: Funny because i just took the two meter from your place and they work just fine.... I havn't had one single problem

Taking your Multimeter D as an example:

en-us [Dir]

images [Dir]

Champibleu.png

gadget.xml

icon.png

mark those and create a zip, then just rename the zip extension to gadget instead.

Sorry for the big images, just made this in a hurry.

Thank you slippy i'll try it out...

I fixed the multi meter (S) Single core....

Download Here

UT2007... can you try it out...

Still has a bug...

Multimeter.jpg

You probably using Rar instead of zip...

Just mark the files and rightclick "Add to archive" then choose archive format ZIP...

And after rename extention from zip to gadget

Edit: I can see you need to fo to folder options and make extensions visiable....

Go to any open window, pres your alt key go to tools and select folder options.

Go to the View Pane and and scrol down to "Hide extensions for known file types" and uncheck the box

Yep works now. I think you should figure out a way to make all of your gadgets use the same backgrounds, so that people who use all three don't have to have the same backgrounds 3 times over ;)
