Bloodmasters Released!

Recommended Posts

Arcade, oldschool multiplayer and bloodshed. That's what the game Bloodmasters is about. Play with friends on your LAN or online and experience this oldschool top-down shooter. The game supports Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture The Flag and Scavenger game modes. The game is completely freeware and without ads, spyware or other unwanted garbage.

Saw this linked on Gamershell yesterday, figured for a 45 meg download I'd give it a shot. Man, what an impressive game. There's about 8 or 9 maps included, none are humongous by any stretch, but they are all "fun" and graphically it's pretty nice as well. All sorts of neat lighting, shadowing effects, etc. I think this game uses an enhanced Darkspaces engine, though I could be wrong. Either way, it looks damn nice and should run on fairly old hardware pretty well I think. There's DM/TDM/CTF and Scavenger game modes as it says ^^ there. Not bad for free eh?

There's a good 10 or more servers up for the game, and eh, maybe 15 people playing it. So I'm posting it here, to get more people to play it. I always like to support freeware gaming devs, and especially when the game isn't "crippled" or garbageware. Give it a shot folks, you can't lose with a free game!

*Update* I just spoke to the game's developer in IRC, the game does not use the Darkspaces engine, it's using a custom built engine he developed.

Yeh am bloody loving this. Hopefully with new updates it,ll become bigger and better.

The BIG problem I have is that the movement keys stay the same as your player model moves. I.e if im facing right the W key moves me up (not forward) and if Im facing left the W key moves me up (again not forward).

So thats gonna take some getting used to.

We should try and find or host a wee server for Neowin and play on it :)

Today we released an update to version 1.1 of our new, freeware game Bloodmasters. This update fixes the problems we found in the first version and adds some new features that the community deemed necessary. Now that the game has the support needed for tournaments, we are proud to announce the first tournament has opened for subscriptions! More information is available at the official website, www.bloodmasters.com.
