I can tell from 100% sure that the bootscreens aren't final, they never are in RTM versions.

RTM means 'release to MANUFRACTURER' which isn't the version that will be released to consumers at home. At work we have Vista running and we have a normal bootscreen, with a vista logo and a blue smooth bar, not a green one.

If the RTM was to be released to the consumers, we would have had VISTA already at home, by buying it in stores.

RTM is always a version before the REAL official release to consumers. Always has been like that.

No... besides from that being incorrect, Microsoft did confirm that there is no bootscreen and their reasoning behind it.

 Jeez, how much ignorance in one post...

Sorry, had to...

im too curious about the aurora in nogui... does anyone have any solid facts about what they were gonna do? I looked it up and they said it had something to do with the motion desktop. Now this is off topic, but when I imagined motion desktop, I was thinking of that aurora picture being animated and all aura-ee type, and that you could actually have a 3-D space in the desktop, you know more interactive rather than just a moving picture.

Doesn't the default aurora in the nogui boot look like it was going to be animated somehow? It reminds me of the background from media center. Something like that.

Izlude

I suggest you extend your Jan. 30th deadline.

There is some good work here. My favorite, so far, is 3gh7.gif.

But I like the idea of an orb such as vistaboot.gif.

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r292/Mi...e/vistaboot.gif

I think that it would be cool to use the pallet from 3gh7 and make a smoother globe of vistaboot.

try installing bootskin (google it). it doesn't say it's compatible with vista, but i've tried it, and it is.

really it works? i gotta check it out :o i wonder what's really up with stardock saying that they're still tinkering around with it. well thanks for the info i'ma see this.

This is such a nice boot screen, I thought that I would pass it on.

Glass Windows by swissboy

This bootscreen is based on the "Blue Glass XP logo" wallpaper created by "DeAgOnZ".

The package contains two versions of english ntoskrnl.exe, with Windows XP Service Pack and without Service Pack,

because this two versions are not compatible.

The ntoskrnlSP.exe is the version 5.1.2600.1224 for Windows XP with Service Pack 1, but should also working with

the upcoming Service Pack 2. The ntoskrnl.exe is the version 5.1.2600.115 for Windows XP without Service Pack.

The package contains also all bitmaps and five wallpapers 1600x1200 in five different color tones.

This bootscreen has a customized color palette and a vertical moved progress bar.

For only 16 colors looks realy good!

Thanks for the permission to use his wallpaper to "DeAgOnZ".

Please read also the in this package included ReadMe.htm for installation and more.

For more information about the "swissboy bootscreen collection CD-ROM",
