Ryne
I still get the same issue. It plays sound, but the video is all grey. No idea why it does this, even though WMP 11 and MPC would play the exact same files perfectly :/. I know I have the codecs. Just weird. *puts away VLC*

Twisted Chaz
I don't really want to say this, but, I'd rather download a few extra codecs I need and have a nice looking browser than have this. However I respect all the work done to this program! And I do use it to watch Lost. Cause that is the only file my other media player won't play for some reason, even though it says I have the codecs installed. Will download :)
DrCheese
I used to use Media player classic for watching DVD's and so on, but the product simply isn't updated quick enough for my liking. Installed VLC and I'm starting to love it :p
Ryne
I fixed my issue (with a little help). If you have a grey screen problem (like I did), I went to preferences -> video -> select output modules (make sure you have advanced options checked in the lower right corner). Change ithe Video Output Module to something else (maybe DirectX 3D video output or OpenGL - mines is now on DirectX 3D). See if it works.
Ryne
Man, can't edit my own post. I hate that :/ Anyway, that is only a temporary fix (if it works). A person on the VLC forums said that there is usually something missing, so reinstalling DX runtimes and video cards should fix it. However, I have not found it to fix my problem, so I will stick with the directx option for now.
