DrCheese
Hi, I'm thinking of purchasing the extra 2 years of 360 warranty as I'm worried about the high number of failures people have with the console, however I brought it 2 weeks ago now and as its close to christmas I'd rather keep some cash back for abit. My question is how soon do I need to purchase the Warranty? the slip with the console says "Send back within 10 days" but I've heard of people ringing up the day before the 1 year one ran out and renewing. Besides, if the console died within the first year I'd just take it back to Game and get a new one. Thanks
DarkGashX
I was worried but now I'm fine. Simple fact is -your not going to be seeing many threads with "Mines fine" compared to "My 360 Has Broken". :).
Tomo
You are automatically covered by law for the first 12 months on any purchase so if it did die in the first year you are entitled to a replacement unit.
Spielo
You are automatically covered by law for the first 12 months on any purchase so if it did die in the first year you are entitled to a replacement unit. Actually, you are covered by law for "a reasonable amount of time". There's nothing in UK law that says everything comes with a 12 month warranty, it simply states that products should be expected to last for a "reasonable amount of time". I would expect a ?300 games console to last at least 3 years, minimum. If I got a machine that didn't, I would take it to a small claims court if a company refused to fix it. Yeh my bad, here is a list of your entitlements Trading Standards If your xbox fails within a reasonable amount of time, i'd say 1-2 years is reasonable then you are entitled to repair or replacement. A reasonable amount of time defined by who? Is it the individual, the manufacturer, the retail outlet or the judge? I dare say any unless the individual doing the suing could afford the right legal council they're very likely to loose any court battle they take against the manufacturer. Assuming it even gets that far.
lnmnky
My xbox360 was manufactered 2005-10-11 and it failed last week with graphics corruption. I have no receipt, no proof of purchase, and I got it boxed and unused off a mate who bought a core because it was available. (he got a premium the same day by luck) Anyway, one phone call and 2 days later, I have UPS round my house ready to collect the xbox360, take it portsmouth for a replacement. A replacement should be back with me in 7 days. The bloke on the phone at MS just asked for the serial number and a brief description and he put a UPS sticker in the post for me. The replacements are refurbs, but at least they will be updated with the heatsink tested properly. Happy Christmas Mr. Gates! (Y)

Too stupid to put it with a neighbour, or in the little cupboard. They thought it would be best to leave the unit.... ON A BIN OUTSIDE!!!!!! Twats. Oh well, I got it back at least. Steve
YOU BITCH! I sent mine away, a week Friday, and only yesterday was it shipped. According to DHL, it's now sat near Coventry, and probably will so for a few more days now! What annoys me more, is I have a shiny new 27" Samsung TV waiting to warm up it's HD lights, and I call do for it, is let it watch me battle through MGS:PO on PSP! :( I cannot believe you got a quicker turn around! What a joke! ...Moreover, I cannot believe they 'just left it' like that, I was under the impression a signature was a REQUIREMENT?

My console has a manufacture date of 2005-09. So it must be an old refurb. It does seem quieter though to be honest. I'm glad to have it back for Chrimbo. :D Good luck with yours.
