Cowpie
Well, actually the number has increased since I started writing this post, were on 283 by now...... Interesting note: All of the attempts are traced back to Turkey, could this be because it is Turkey day? Coincidence(spelled wrong I think) or not? Anyone else having 'Security Issues' on this happy Turkey Day?

But now seems it was only Mr Cowpie's small site being hacked. Am hungry now, lemme eat cow pie? :D

Cowpie
Oh, and most of the 'attempts' are being made to ports in the 130's or close to em, any help on what is going on?
lsc
Its most likely a file sharing client causing it. Two years ago when Napster was still around. I installed zone alarm onto a friends computer for him and then he phoned me up 10 minutes later saying 'dude my computer is being hacked non stop' because the pop up alerts kept coming up on him. I told him its nothing to disable the pop ups and keep dowloading music as normal

+BeLGaRaTh Subscriber¹ Posted November 28, 2002 Subscriber¹ Share Posted November 28, 2002 Cowpie ... to get back on subject ... background scans occur all the time ... it is not a thing to be worried about, its just script kiddies scanning ports ... as long as your firewall etc is catching em no worries ... a better thing to use is Antivirus software, that will tell you when any malicious program is trying to run on your system. Apologies about the P2P comment, but I just dont appreciate these lamers who think they are great because they use Kazaa etc etc

unique
Apologies about the P2P comment, but I just dont appreciate these lamers who think they are great because they use Kazaa etc etc I personally don't use p2p, more of a irc guy, but some 10 yr old who doesn't know how to use mirc, but can get the songs they want using a p2p is a lamer? Gmmie a break, we all gotta start somewheres. people use p2p for its ease...others use irc for its complexities.
