The Hammers had a ?7m offer rejected last week but at the time manager Aidy Boothroyd said he expected the Upton Park club to make another offer. They returned with an initial offer of ?8m plus ?1.65m based on clauses but Young, 21, turned them down. West Ham have signed Davenport as well. Maybe this means that Liverpool will be making another move for Alves in the summer.
