Xbox 360 v2 : Codename Zephyr

Recommended Posts

Well, I guess I'm not buying my 360 tomorrow then.

congradulations guys... we've lost a new comer :(

lol.. Spartan, any chance this will effectively come out from your point of view? i know you probably do i mean don't know any official word on this... but could this ever be likely to release to the general public in the future?

Okay, I've actually read thru all of this discussion, cept a few of the last posts that repeated themselves, and 'd just like to make my point.

I don't care about HDMI, i know a lot of you do, but it's not my thing, i don't have enough for a HDTV anyway, CRT is more my kinda thing, secondly, since I'm so cheap I don't have a HDD, I have a second hand memory unit which I got for ?15 with no box or instructions or out, thirdly, this doesn't bother me cos I can't get live where I live cos I have no broadband, and I can plug my mp4 player into my 360 (cos it's awesome like that, Thanks MS) and listen to music.

If ever did move somehwere where I could get live, I'd buy a HDD but I'm not bothered right now so that's okay, errrm *tries to remember other points* Okay so, a 65nm chip, sounds great, cos noise and heat do bother me, but I decided I wasn't bothered when that news came out, now that this v2 has been talked about I initially was upset cos I got my 360 for xmas, but now I'm really not bothered anymore cos I don't need any of the other shzit.

Things i really want:

Black 360 (but I couldn't buy another anywa, but it'd be cool for other peeps)

Wireless Guitar hero 2 Guitar.

Welcome to the world of the poor simplton who doesn't have to worry about 1080p/i and DVI, or even HDMI, I can tell you, it's bliss:DD

if microsoft releases another xbox360 console, it will be the "ultimate" version or something along those lines, with HDMI, HD-DVD, and possibly a bigger hard drive? they won't be making HD-DVD games however.. because it makes 10,000,000 xbox360's useless.

Hybrid DVD's anyone

Wouldn't Hybrid DVD's up the cost of the games, also there would innevitably be the special editions of games solely for HD DVD that would leave regular DVD users feeling left out.

In an article I read recently on comparison of 360 and ps3 on a 1080 i (was it i or p) HDTV the guy asked MS if they would make games on HD DVD and there was a firm No (confirm anyone? my memory's hazy).

Yes, that was from ArsTechnica. It's in the console gamer forum.

Yep there we go.

I'm pleased Spartan is he cos he provides us with so much information.

Also it's just good to have a MS guy online with us, feels kind of personal, I dunno, I like it.

Anyway, off to go and play my mates Xbox1 which he actually has connected up to a 1080p TV using HDMI, funny that isn't it lol.

Microsoft wouldn't really screw us v1 owners in...

...would they?

If it is true, they really haven't screwed anyone over as all current 360's can do 1080p already, just people with HDTVs that have HDMI inputs can't use it and will require a new 360 is they wish to use HDMI.

I am 100% sure that the 120GB HDD wont be bundled, this will just shoot the price of the xbox360. A bigger hdd was very much expected because the existing one is not enough to leech content, especially when these days TV and Movies stuff can also be downloaded easily from Xbox Live service.

I'm pretty sure it will be, don't forget Sony are planning to release a multimedia centered PS3, which will also most likely include a larger HDD. This new 360 could be aimed at that (but I'm only taking wild guesses, I could be wrong). But either way, I'm sure there will be a 120Gb HDD, as MS has received a lot of backlash over the 20Gb one, particularly how Sony top PS3 currently has 60Gb.

Personally, this doesn't bother me much as I only have a SDTV so the added HDMI port is useless to me. If I need a bigger HDD, I'm sure the 120Gb one will also be an addon accessory which I could purchase at a later date.

It's Microsoft's fault that developers moved to the 360 to develop rather than the Xbox?

Owned.

Not everyone needs HDMI in the very near future and the 65nm hardly affects anyone. Sure there's excess heat and sound, but that should be drowned out with loud game soundtracks or sound effects anyway ;)

The Xbox wasn't great, so it's normal that Developers would develop for the Xbox360, and not only that. It was release a year early! While game developers had to release PS2 version of the games they've released for the Xbox360 since the PS3 was no where to be seen.
