Try closing all your open browsers if not clear your chache and try again.

I believe it's case sensitive. Put "HOUDINI" (all caps)

And the one with the horse was Thurston.

hey guys

first of all i'd like to congratulate on you for solving those problems! you are really genius!

unfortunately, many of you were faster than me so i couldn't post any answer :(

i also noticed the change between the horse and the lady...it's strange but as one of you said, the puzzle is already solved so i don't think it is relevant at all

i entered the site you talked about (http://www.lokivanishes.com/) and i have no idea if it is related to the game, but i disagree on sth...it's not a counter...sometimes, it gives away random numbers...for example, the fist time i got there the number was 00,001,955 and after refreshing the page it said 00,001,977 and after refreshing 10 times again there was the same number

well, i think there's not much to add

although i can't win anything 'cause my country is not in the 'allowed country list', i wish you good luck and i'll be reading the posts in case i could help you

saludos!

By the way, we did have the horse magician, it was thurston, howard thurston... (I found it :) )

Sorry just finished the puzzles.

I know people were thinking that some of us were looking too much into it ie. D&G watch and stamps etc.

However on her video at the end of this set of puzzles she mentions a watch as a prominent part of one of her stories. Just though I'd add this in :)

Has anyone noticed an error in puzzle Cups and Balls?

There are two different symbols used for a letter S. One comes from the first two words (thiS, trickSter, 6 squares) and the second from every other word (ShareS, hiS, ..., 7 squares).

I see three possibilities:

1. It is an error. In this case I'm hoping that someone from MS will read this thread and correct it.

2. It has been placed there to make it more difficult to use automatic substitution cipher breakers (like I did).

3. It is part of a puzzle. Can't imagine how, though...

I'm starting to wonder if our purpose is a bit more of a challenge than we thought? Maybe Loki is planning to steal something (or already has!) and finding Loki at her Vanishing Point is actually the challenge. We have to catch her before she gets away with it.

SuperRob I like the way you think. There might be more dimension to the game -- or there should be. Good call with catching the MIT story. I think they knew someone would catch on to that too. But what is the signifigance? Did she go to MIT or work for MIT? Maybe we need to make contact with her there.

EDIT: Link http://hacks.mit.edu/Hacks/by_year/1990/vest_bboard/

So, as was said before, the prank Loki describes is actually a famous MIT prank, where they concealed the office of President Vest.

From the MIT Hacks archive:

Officially, it was the day that President Vest was to take office at MIT. When Vice President Constantine Simonides arrived to open up the office, however, he thought he was on the wrong floor. Where the door should have been, there was only a poster-covered bulletin board......President Vest's office was still there, but a portable, wooden-frame bulletin board had been placed over it. The board had been carefully contructed to fit into the entryway, but was easily removed...... This story made national news: the hackers of MIT had welcomed Vest in their own ``official'' style.

Hmm... What's she trying to say exactly?

It IS a part of a puzzle --> in fact it's a part of the puzzle which leads to the solution ;) --> STAGE

Further analysis of the video: She seems to be holding some black rod with a white plastic tip (maybe an umbrella?). The camera focuses it on it twice for a brief second. Also, it almost seems as if she's LYING about her prank. She changes some essential information, such as the victim of the prank (President as opposed to Chem professor), and how elaborate it was (the original pranksters didn't lay down any drywall or anything like that).

It is a magicians magic wand, tipped in white on both ends..."You just sawed a lady in half"/notice the directors chair legs...No Loki legs! - But they reappear soon enough a wee bit later in the clip - her knees were crossed later. 2 weeks later he climbed through the window-two weeks left in the contest -will climbing through a window to make contact w/ loki be the end all at the Old AT&T Building? Nawww, that would be totally illegal.

Anyone else notice the red/silver dart in the Challenge vid as she loads all the watches in the jewelry/puzzle box? What in heavens name was the dart for (sharp & pointy for sure). What was/were the significance of the chocolates on the tables in that video and what was on the end table next to the lamp w/ those discarded chocolate wrappers?

I pointed this out elsewhere, but it wasn't accepted as in game at all (of zero consequence)...I'm still not so sure. (Click on the "Details" box, then compare to "Work/Play" & The Wiki of the Lorelei Poem edits between Jan 6, 2007 & present...look at the poem specifically. Gold & golden are prominent just like GOLD/PLAY are on the Chocolate Loki Diety Ad. Pervasive advertising is easy for someone like 42Entertainment. Phony websites and real alike, this one changed all over the net. That Shield sure looks a lot like the AMD logo, No?

The Chocolate Loki Diety Ad also uses the "trickster" terminology.

It wasn't a dart. It was a jeweler's screwdriver.

Magicians rod?

She also refers to painting the drywall as "white-wash" which in this case may have a dual meaning.

Guys, I think you're overanalysing the Chocolate Deity ad. Because if you know anything about Norse mythology, you'll know that Loki is a god known for his trickery and fraud (thanks, Matantei Loki Ragnarok :)).

Loki bears many names : Lie-Smith, Sly-God, Shape-Changer, Sly-One, Lopt, Sky Traveller, Sky Walker and Loftur among others.

Over analysing yes, but leaving nothing to chance...I just hate dead ends that wiki poem was a dead end..."Her golden jewelry glistens"..
