Italian court: Downloading OK if not for profit

Recommended Posts

before you pack your bags..

The Italian agency that monitors copyright issues, known by the acronym SIAE, said in a statement that the ruling did not bring any "revolutions" in terms of author's rights because the case predates current legislation calling for a fine for anyone who shares protected material over the Internet, even without financial gain.

Sentence was referred to "crime" done before 2004.

Now (after 2004) there is a new law in Italy to protect copyright.

In Italy judgement process takes 10-20 years so in 2007 we discuss a 1999 case.

After 1999 there were 5 modifications to "no-download law" and they were done by left e right politicians.

Sorry for my english.
