Gretzky399
I set up a network with 3 computers 2 of which are desktops and the third is a laptop using a linksys wireless router. All the computers have wireless cards. The desktop and the laptop are running windows xp professional and the second desktop is running windows xp home edition. So all of them can connect to the internet and they recieved all the correct settings from the router. However, when i try to set up the network for file and printer sharing it doesn't work. Ran the windows network wizard on all the computers and had them join the same workgroup. But when I go to My Network Places, I can only see 2 computers instead of 3 and It says I don't have access to one of the computers due to restrictions. Tried many times running the wizard and setting up the file and print sharing on all the computers but to no avail. It would be great if someone could help me out to try and fix this problem so i can share files and printers between all the networked computers. Thanks so much I would greatlly appreciate it
kombolcha
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! I just had this problem about three weeks ago except it wasn't a wireless problem.... BUT, I forgot how i fixed it. BRAIN FREEZE! ummmmmm. my brain has completely shut down, sorry man.. if i remember i'll let you know. OH!....... No...... wait...... maybe! i'm not too sure but i remember that: some computers which run on NTFS have passwords set or the accessability has not been set for the other two computers.... and i don't remember how to set that because its been a while since i was on NTFS file system (i'm assuming you're running on NTFS) there is a place where you can say who can access that computer and you can add remote and local users. i tried ;)
