alsheron
I'd be amazed if that worked, and very very annoyed if I wen to the trouble of installing Vista to do it, and it didn't work. Interesting though. I'll buy a copy thanks. raskren
There is no Vista "evaluation" or "trial." Vista is not a shareware application. The page you linked to discusses circumvention of built-in operating system checks. xxdesmus
This was posted a few days ago, and it was warez then, and it is warez now. Windows does not have a "trial" or an "evaluation" ...30 days is to give you time to activate, period. Southern Patriot
It is kind of interesting though that Neowin seems to have removed the stickies from the Vista forums about the "no 30 day trial". UnswoleLilDude
This is a built in function of windows vista people. Not a hack! This works on every version except the enterprise version. .Markus
I do not see it as a 'built in function' if you have to edit system files. There is only meant to be a 30 day trial period, and even if there is loop holes, they should be abided... UnswoleLilDude
Before you guys run to any conclusions on this topic, try it out. Open the command prompt as admin in Vista and just type <snipped>. You get a help file. In the help file is the switch<snipped> that is said to Reset the licensing status of the machine. When you run the slmgr command with the <snipped> switch you are given 30 more days up to 3 times. What is illegal about this? It is a built in function. Edited February 1, 2007 by John S. DanManIt
That's pretty cool, but probably still just as illegal as pirating it.
