what happened to the full version without emusic plus? the typical link doesn't work

According to the Winamp forum, the "management" found out about the installer or something and barred the developer from releasing a plain package for this version.

Yeah, it's pretty meh having to uninstall all the rubbish when I do want some of the features that aren't in Lite.

Oh well, still my favourite player.

What rubbish do you mean? I unticked the emusic thing during the install, and can't find any traces of crapware on my system...
The changelog left out that single-user mode was removed...

Single user mode seems ok here?

Single user mode seems ok here?

The previous installer (I upgraded from 5.31) asked me if I wanted to use single or multi-user mode, but the new one didn't and it defaulted to mult-user mode. It didn't bother copying my settings or media library so I had to change my paths.ini file manually.

Probab;y next will be Winamp 6!

will be 5.34 (and was indicated a week or so ago in the Winamp Development forum, and really anything can be numbered as 6, but what would be done to make the need for such a major version jump? free ponies with every install? :)

not using Vista by chance? since that's the only OS where the settings type install is hard coded to non-shared (seeing as how Vista prevents by default saving working in the Program Files directories). i think it's been agreed that maybe some tweaks need to be made in this respect but i don't know what the exact details were at the time.

yes it's annoying but there is a blatant checkbox in the installer where the emusic part can be set to not be installed (just a shame that management blocked it from being stored as part of the previous state with the install.ini for the previous mode that the installer provides). strangely enough, there's one quick workaround, download the pro installer and if you're not using/have a valid pro install then just click cancel on the prompt for the key - which is the only difference between it and the plain full installer. and you can't miss it happening like people seem to do with the obvious option to uncheck the emusic thing.

yes it's bloody annoying (i'd like to use stronger language but i'll be good this time) and the end effect is detrimental to users and to winamp as a whole (way to go those in suits who made this decision) but at least there's a workaround (via the pro installer option).

I finally decided to update and I lost all my settings/media library...what can I do to get them back? I have a backup and reverting back to 5.32 works, but i cant figure out what to do for 5.33...kind of stupid if you ask me that they decide to kill single user

Well I understand about user choice and all, but they shouldn't have even made that an option a long time ago. Multi-user mode should have been the only mode because a user folder is the only folder that is going to have guaranteed write access.
