excessdl
i live in an apartment where we route our cable modem to the 4 of us.. sometimes the cable goes down, and i don't wanna bust my roommate's door down (while his girlfriend's spending QT with him) when i need to reset the modem... and since the internet's down, that kills messaging him... are there any messenger clients i can use to just message my roommates through our network ips? i'm thinking something small, not very intrusive since it'll just be for a couple people. maybe just run on startup and autohide in the system tray. LUTZIFER
Try "RealPopup". It's simular to the Winpopup program included with older Windows versions for messeging on a network. It's small and works great. RealPopup

timmmay
depending on which os you are using (i think this will only work in win2k or xp) go to the command prompt and type net send ip "message" eg. net send 192.168.0.1 "reset the god damn modem"
