ViZioN
I can't get it to work. When I run the registry file it says it not a registry script. And it wont let me import it either :( Any ideas? edit: Fixed I didn't include the 'Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00' line, even though the reg file on the previous page doesn't have it either..? Weird...but it's working now :D

Nicholas-c Veteran Posted March 5, 2007 Veteran Share Posted March 5, 2007 to delete it you can always go into reg edit and delete the entries
BigKush
It looks (from everybodies screenshots and from my last install of Vista using this tweak) like this tweak is what is corrupting many people's WEI? Or is it simply a coincidence?

B26354
Well a undo reg file would be nice. You can erase the whole OEMInformation key, but this can also do the job.. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OEMInformation] "Logo"="" "Manufacturer"=""

Or is it simply a coincidence? from what i understand, the problem occurs when you install in the year 2099. (the reason people would do that is because it's part of the most popular crack). anyway, if you do that, you're unable to update the wei data so if it wasn't rated, it'll stay unrated, and if it was and you change hardware, you can't have the rating reflect it. BigKush
Is there any way I can add another line below "Manufacturer" ? e.g: Manufacturer: ASUS, NVidia Builder: Example Company Ltd. I've tried to simply add it below the Manufacturer line in the registry script as '"Builder"="Example Company Ltd."' however it doesn't add it. Help a simpleton out, please :D from what i understand, the problem occurs when you install in the year 2099. I've found out recently that this corruption happens when TweakVI is installed. (A default setting affects it) My Vista is most certainly not cracked, even though I may only be able to afford Home Premium currently. ;)

JakeS
Guys, To add your oem logo to windows experience index do the following: Open up regedit (Start > Run > Regedit) Find this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winsat\WindowsExperienceIndexOemInfo Do the following: Right click in the empty box > New > String Value > Called "Logo" Edit its contents with: c:\\windows\\system32\\oobe\\BrandExp.bmp Create a bmp file with your logo (try to make it short in height) save as bmp 256 colour to C:\Windows\System32\oobe as "BrandExp.bmp" Now go to system properties click windows experience index you should now see your logo at the bottem. Enjoy!
