The Watcher
I have to admit it's a pretty solid player overall but I still prefer Media Player Classic :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/545734-gom-player-2123406-final/#findComment-588390667 Share on other sites
IceBrewedBeer
How does this compare to MPC? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/545734-gom-player-2123406-final/#findComment-588390699 Share on other sites
Symphony
Thanks. This is the best player out there :) MPC only plays mpeg2 "out of the box" for anything else you need to install codecs. GOM is similar to VLC, KMplayer and MPUI (mplayer): you don't need to install any codec. After a fresh Win install you can install GOM, than all of the videos (divx, xvid, flv, mpeg2, with ac3, srt, sub) will be played. Pink Floyd Veteran Posted March 13, 2007 Veteran Share Posted March 13, 2007 Thanks. This is the best player out there :) MPC only plays mpeg2 "out of the box" for anything else you need to install codecs. GOM is similar to VLC, KMplayer and MPUI (mplayer): you don't need to install any codec. After a fresh Win install you can install GOM, than all of the videos (divx, xvid, flv, mpeg2, with ac3, srt, sub) will be played. the is why these players are so much bigger compared to MPC.Personally, I still prefer MPC. And I don't need huge coded pack neither. Just install the codec needed by doing regsvr32.exe "pathto\namehere.ax" as for divix, xvid and anything else But again, this is personal preference as usual Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/545734-gom-player-2123406-final/#findComment-588391779 Share on other sites
Symphony
My mistake, maybe i didn't use my english fine :) These apps won't install codec packs, they contain all the codecs needed, and loaded and unloaded on-the-fly with the main application. So you only have codecs when you need them, quiting these apps will leave you with a clean, codec free system. ZZOOzzoo
GOM Player is one of things I really miss in Mac OSX. :( Nice to see this awesome program has reached out to international users though.
