Well I just downloaded the free program, Stardock Deskscapes, and to go with it, I just purchased these 2 Dreams:

Altogether, I paid $9.90 which is just over ?5 in the UK. Hardly an enormous sum. In fact, i'd go as far as to call it "nominal":))

In any case, I am very happy with my purchase. These two dreams are awesome. I can only imagine the amount of work that went into them. Blissful Sunset in particular is so detailed that its unreal!:

I'll be honest and say that this whole feature (DreamScene) was one of the main reasons that I went for Ultimate, and I am very glad that I did! The free sample that came with DreamScene preview wasnt great to say the least, but if this is what can be done with this feature already, i'm excited at whats to come!

Simply awesome!:cool::

Both of those Dreams are awesome. I'm glad you like!

:)

Indeed I do, fantastic work by the guys at Stardock, and you personally maybe? :)(Y)

Btw, I read somewhere that more dynamic dreams were coming? Where it would tie in with the computers clock or something? Something about the sun and moon rising and setting depending on your computers time?

If so that would be really really awesome! As soon as you release something like that, you can chalk me up for another immediate sale!

There are a lot of cool things you can do with the dynamic content/triggers. One example would be like you described, Dreams based on the time of day or some other kind of event trigger.

:)

Any word on how soon I might be able to purchase something like this? :)

If you are a subscriber to Object Desktop then you have access to the DeskScapes beta which includes a dynamic Dream for subscribers. Availability for the public will follow afterwards.

:)

I've got the dynamic 3D earth one running right now. Other than lowballing the quality setting no real issues, it set the crappy 75% texture sharpness as the recommended default for my card but I bumped it all the way up with no noticeable penalty.

I can't wait for more of this stuff :)

Here is some info about DeskScpaes 1.01 and it has some screenshots of the Desktop Earth animated wallpaper.

Yeah I've seen that, it's very cool. Now if you could just make it hit one of the weather sites and pull down updated global radar images to display real time current weather as well. :p

Pulling weather data and using it should be possible at some point.

:)

they do look very nice and i would love to buy them, but at the moment Dreamscene is causing too many problems for me like randomly the video will just freeze and cpu usage will rocket to 100% and stay there untill i change the wallpaper, and also mpeg dreamscene's wont work at all.

desk scapes is good, but I'm not gonna pay for a wallpaper, no matter how cool it is, and no matter how much it costs! it's a freaking wallpaper, and it's not like i'm gonna use it for a long time... so I'd better waste my money somewhere elce...

The majority of Dreams are free, and there are just a few premium ones that cost very little.

;)

When is the Earth dream going to be released for all us non Object Desktop subscribers? I know it was gpnna be a premium, but I figured it would be released at the same time as the DreamScapes update
