truenorth3410
Is it just me or software manufacturers just have not come out of the gates with made-for-Vista software? Yeah, we might love Vista, but we just ported over the same same old apps from XP. Ho hum. If you know of a cool Vista app - available now or its release already announced - please post it here. UncleSpellbinder
Well to be honest there aren't any (I mean a lot that can be used by normal user in day to day life). After using Vista Home Premium since Feb 3rd, nearly every program I used in XP/SP2 works just fine. Including iTunes. Only 1 app is not yet compatible, Acid Music Studio 6. Other than that, all's good!

truenorth3410
I dont really know of any Vista specific software, other then Office 2007, Windows Media Player, iTunes 7.1.1 None of those is Vista-specific, is it? They'll run on Vista, but they were not written specifically for Vista.
Brandon Live Veteran Posted March 22, 2007 Veteran Share Posted March 22, 2007 Well I don't know about iTunes, but the other two have "better on Vista" features.
Martog
Well I don't know about iTunes, but the other two have "better on Vista" features. I agree. WMP11 and Office 2007 were being devloped along the same time as Vista, so it makes since those dev teams were devloping around Vista, but also making sure they ran on other select Windows OS's. It will interesting to see what some more 3rd party apps for Vista are going to be like, I would really like to try out that Yahoo Messenger to see how it is. Grope for Luna
This is a nice vista app! http://www.punksoftware.com/rocketdock I have to use RocketDock since they decided to lock the QuickLaunch to the task bar.
BoDEAN
When using rocketdock, do you not use quicklaunch? Seems to do the same thing. Right now, I have my quicklaunch on my top bar of my tasbar, and open programs below that.
Brandon Live Veteran Posted March 23, 2007 Veteran Share Posted March 23, 2007 I have to use RocketDock since they decided to lock the QuickLaunch to the task bar. Pssst... there's actually still a way to do that. Open an Explorer window, drag a folder to the side (or top) of your screen, you'll get a toolband on that side - and right-clicking on it will let you switch it to being Quicklaunch or any other toolbar. (note that this functionality will likely be completely gone in the next version of Windows as it's apparently never used, and most often used accidentally)
Grope for Luna
Now I should have thought of that before! Thanks for the tip Brandon.
