  • 2 weeks later...

Been a member of the group since the end of November, alas no PS3 to help me fold but the Q6600 is running two clients and not breaking a sweat so i should be helping with the points a bit ;)

The goal for next year? Break the 750 Barrier, then the year after the 500 Barrier and so on. Would be a good goal to stick to.

Yeah we are doing really well been watching us get a couple of positions a day.

Based on our current and other teams folding we will be at position 800 in 39 Days. Obviously that's if we keep up our rate of production and everyone else stays at the same rate of production.

Team Radar

hmmm now if only i could get the SMP client to work

Hmm

I hope you guys can shed some light on this

My friend just did 1 WU and got 1760 points/score (Using Core2Duo E6600)

Ive done 35, but I only have a score of 7481 - which should be ~214points for each WU(Using a PS3)

Why the difference?

Every WU is different. The longer it takes to do, the bigger it is and the more amount of points it's worth.

He is running the SMP Client like i am, each work unit is worth around 1760 points and takes my Q6600 @ 3.0GHz 17 Hours to complete with pretty much all of my processing time given to the SMP Client, give or take a little bit.

Due to the amount of time taken to compute the work unit the work unit is awarded more points.

Points FAQ

Do you think it would be possible to get this initiative posted on the main page during a slow news day? I know many people may not frequent the Gamers or Sony Console forums to notice this thread and i am sure many of the members or even regular readers would be willing to participate and contribute their spare CPU cycles.
