Vice
I need to purchase a USB Bluetooth Dongle but all the stores I've looked at do not list Vista compatibility so I've spent the afternoon researching a whole lot of Bluetooth devices at Manufacturer websites and I've been unable to find one that has Vista drivers. I've also hit Google looking for compatibility charts.. dead ends there too.. So does anyone know of a USB Bluetooth Dongle that works under Vista x64? Either natively or with 3rd party drivers. Thanks. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/551065-bluetooth-vista-x64/ Share on other sites
Daza
I use the following: http://www.telusplanet.net/public/wladykad/ works fine on cheap dongle's that use bluesoleil. Gibwar
Here is one I use: http://us.kensington.com/html/9403.html. It doesn't have "native" drivers but it works just fine with the generic bluetooth driver that windows provides (you'll have to tell it to use it manually). :: Lyon ::
Eh Cool! But I thought there was a beta version of BlueSoleil thingie driver lying around (I downloaded a couple of weeks ago for Vista) but I haven't tried it yet.. Should I use this guide instead? Gibwar
Just noticed you mentioned x64 - I am happy to say that the kensington bluetooth works fine on x64 too (I run that on my laptop and desktop). Should I use this guide instead? avoid bluesoleil crap like a plunge. There is no need for it. You can install the WIDCOMM driver workaround that i posted before - it'll work like a native bluetooth adaptor and not be tangled with all the BlueSoleil crap. I've tried it on 2 dongles so far and it works perfectly. Vice
Thanks all! some good information there. I went with an Asus dongle. If it doesn't work I'll send it back and get the Kingston. :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/551065-bluetooth-vista-x64/#findComment-588451399 Share on other sites
