0 radixvir
what type of email account do you have (pop, imap)? it is possible to set outlook to check for mail every n number of minutes, and there is a way to minimize outlook to the tray(ive done it but forgot who told me....someone?) if you have an imap account i think it should come up and tell you. otherwise i would use the method i described above. just keep it open and have it check for mail every few minutes. tools->options->mail setup-> click send/recieve ->schedule send/receive every....etc **added later.... also the way aim checks it is the same way i described above, it just checks periodically Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/5528-outlook-xp-email/#findComment-37912 Share on other sites

0 rdrakea
I was a beta tester for Office XP and that feature was dropped before RTM. You can make Outlook pop up and tell you new mail has arrived: Tools-->options-->e-mail options-->Display a notification message when new mail arrives. 0 rdrakea
What can you *not* do from the registry? In Beta 2 and earlier of Office XP, there was actually an option to check to make it minimize to the tray - without manual modification of the registry. 0 radixvir
why would they take something like that out? it seems almost counter-productive on ms's part. kinda dumb of them Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/5528-outlook-xp-email/#findComment-38146 Share on other sites
