Hum
BEIJING - The Chinese government is launching a new crackdown on online pornography which it says has "perverted China's young minds," a state news agency said Friday. The Ministry of Public Security says the six-month campaign will target cyber strip shows and sexually explicit images, stories and audio and video clips, according to the Xinhua News Agency. "The boom of pornographic content on the Internet has contaminated cyberspace and perverted China's young minds," Zhang Xinfeng, a deputy public security minister, was quoted as saying Thursday. The campaign also will target illegal online lotteries and contraband trade, fraud and "content that spreads rumors and is of a slanderous nature," Zhang said at a news conference. In China's biggest online porn case to date, a Web site operator, Chen Hui, was sentenced in November to life in prison. The government said Chen's Web site had more than 9 million pornographic images and more than 600,000 registered users. China has the world's second-biggest population of Internet users after the United States, with 137 million people online. The communist government encourages Internet use for education and business but tries to block access to material considered obscene or subversive. "The inflow of pornographic materials from abroad and lax domestic control are to blame for the existing problems in China's cyberspace," Zhang said. According to Xinhua, the Beijing Reformatory for Juvenile Delinquents said 33.5 percent of its detainees were influenced by violent online games or erotic Web sites when they committed crimes such as robbery and rape. source

Naughty Dog
So they really want a world of Chinese virgins by saying it has "perverted" the minds. Not right because they are urges of the body and you cannot fight that but whatever, its their country.

Malisk
What if the young minds want to be "perverted"... Did they consider that, huh? :D The most stupid thing with this is that they besides this employ the most oppressive kind of sexual activities to women in many parts of the country. :( When it comes to sexual material, Internet porn should be the least on their minds. GEIST
LOL... The Chinese government pointing out something that "perverts" youngsters' minds cracks me up. Must suck for them that kids are having a good time with what they find enjoyable outside of the daily communist bull****.
Hum
 Seems rather silly. Rape & sex crimes have gone on for thousands of years, even before there was printing, photography, and videos. The vast majority of people who look at naked humans are not going to force others into sex. The tendency to rape lies within a few individuals -- not in the images they look at. mindscape
The ones who really need to crack down is the japanese, those femals squeak like mice rofl! well...China's not really a "communist" country. They only pretend to be. They're actually a dictatorship. At least thats what my professor says, and I agree. and still, censoring everything wont destroy the hormones. Those will still be there. Unless they're gonna physically force-feed anti-testosterone or anti-estrogen substances to everyone, outlawing pron isnt gonna do them much good. Its like the Prohibition era in the US. All it created was organized crime while the prohibitionists thot that it would "improve society". Who says that this wont do the same?
