However after 2 weeks (Jan 19 to Feb 2) from launch Microsoft managed to sell a mere 244 copies of Windows Vista. Software piracy is rampant in the middle kingdom and a pirated version of Vista sells for a mere $1 on the streets. Although this just goes to show that nomatter how much anti-piracy crap you cram into the system, the pirates will still pirate it. Just lower the price and remove the dpm (digital pirate management) and everyone wins. Microsoft pays about $20 USD in royalties due to patent lawsuits per copy of Vista sold. Therefore, anything under about $30 is unsustainable as far as production is concerned- and they haven't even broke even yet.
