[Soccer/Football] Summer Transfers?

Because Tevez is a very good player who could turn out to be the new Cantona for them.

It seems might initially be a loan...similar to Mascherano to Liverpool...

West Ham are the favourites to sign Liverpool's Welsh international striker Craig Bellamy, BBC Sport understands.

The 27-year-old had fallen down the pecking order at Anfield following boss Rafael Benitez's summer signings of Fernando Torres and Andriy Voronin.

Bellamy would help to plug any gap at Upton Park left by the possible departure of Argentine international Carlos Tevez to Manchester United.

The Wales captain joined Liverpool from Blackburn for ?6m in June 2006.

After starting his career with Norwich City, he has also had stints with Coventry City, Newcastle United, plus a loan spell at Celtic.

Hmmmm

Because Tevez is a very good player who could turn out to be the new Cantona for them.

Then shouldn't that be good? I mean, Liverpool already have Torres, which is good for the Premiership. I rather have a good player, especially Tevez, in the Premiership than another league.

Well it would be good for a neutral to see the best players stay in the Premiership. But considering Man Utd are the main rivals of Liverpool...it is never good to see your rivals strengthen considerably...especially as Liverpool are hoping to mount a sustained challenge for the Premiership.

But of course, if Liverpool signed Tevez it would be a win win situation for us both :p!

Carlos Tevez had shrugged off the latest transfer speculation linking him with an imminent move to Manchester United.

The Daily Mail and The Times led today's back page with a story claiming that the 23-year-old United striker was on his way to Old Trafford, after a 'friend' of Tevez's claimed that he has told them that he would be playing for the Reds next season.

But speaking this morning at Argentina's Copa America HQ, United's current Player of the Year laughed off the story.

"As far as I am aware I have not received any official offers," he told Argentinian newspaper Clarin.

"Once an offer arrives then we will see. But the fact that Real Madrid, Intern and Manchester United are interested in me makes me proud.

"If I have to stay at West Ham, it would be fine. I am happy there and people love me very much. But right now my focus is here.

"Once this is over, we shall see."

Well, if you put it that way... !

Personally I want him to stay with the Hammers, just as I was glad that Berbatov stayed at Spurs. Always a good thing to have top names outside of the top 4. But I'm pretty sure he's waiting for Madrid to come calling. I really think Madrid was the team he wanted to play for as a child.

For whatever reason Madrid has thus far not been in the market at all and if they don't start to act, United will grab him and I'd be absolutely GUTTED! Fortunately he's downplaying the rumors and it seems more and more like he's just waiting for Madrid to bid. United doesn't need him and he doesn't need United!

?8.5 million! I bet West Ham are laughing:laugh::

Aston Villa have completed the signing of West Ham midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker for a fee of ?8.5million.

The England Under 21 international has signed a four-year deal at Villa Park after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.

Reo-Coker's future has been the subject of speculation for some time after he handed in a transfer request at Upton Park in May.

Villa boss Martin O'Neill is believed to be a big fan of the tough-tackling midfielder and sees him as a key addition to his squad.

Reo-Coker, who is Villa's first signing of the summer, will add to Villa's midfield options following the departures of Gavin McCann and Steven Davis.

The former Wimbledon midfielder is looking forward to playing for Villa and has set his sights on fulfilling his ambitions at the club.

"Football is my occupation and I love the game but I don't build myself up to be something I'm not. All I want to do is be successful," Reo-Coker told the club's official website.

"I'm not a superstar or a miracle worker. I'm a hard-working person and I give 100 per cent in every game I play.

"The reason I joined this club is their aspiration to play in Europe.

"Martin O'Neill has told me what he is aiming to do and I believe we can achieve it."

Tevez to Man Utd, now that is one formidable strike force.

Theres to much legal nonsense for that move to ever happen i.e the transfer fee who it goes to? and what sort of agreements are in place with West Ham...

It seems the story makes the papers again...

United will pay ?3m-a-year to loan him for two years and can then pay ?10m to buy him outright. Tevez will earn about ?90,000-a-week so the outlay will be more than ?25m.

He is gonna become a bit costly but I think he's totally worth it for Utd fans...

Tevez out, Bellamy in... what an utter shambles! Tevez was bound to go, and all the best to him, he definately did the business for us. Top man! Hope he is successful at Man Utd.

As for Bellamy, someone please kick Curbs in the ass and get him into gear... does he want to tear the West Ham dressing room apart?

Bellamy is a waste of space I heard we wanted Ciss? but he's gone off to Marseille so thats out the window but theres better players out there...like Saviola who could be free!!!

hate to say it as a mun utd fan but it looks like we're tryna buying the title(s), just like chelsea dun it the past 2 times. we've spent nearly ?50Mil on owen, anderson and nani. now tevez is comin'.

too much change in the squad is gonna mess with the team chemistry and may lead to a good few years before we're a force to be reckoned with.
