[Cancelled] Sarah Connor Chronicles (Terminator Series)

Recommended Posts

Cancer is going to get you regardless of timeline though.

True... and I'm sure that'll play into it , remember the end of the 2nd episode? it showed Sarah at a doctor's office getting blood taken....

BUT another thing, in the pilot or the 2nd episode, it didn't EVER show Sarah as a smoker, as it did in T1 and T2, interesting.

Did anyone else LOL when Sarah slapped the Terminator chick? That was great! :D

Lol yes!

"Terminator" lost a bug chunk of its premiere audience last night, yet it still managed to come out of the Nielsen battle as a winner. Find out why, after the jump. Plus, how the writers' strike is actually helping NBC.

"Terminator" plunged from 18+ million viewers who tuned in on Sunday night to only 10.07 million viewers on Monday at 9:00 p.m.

Although it may seem the show lost almost half its audience, the series premiere on Sunday night aired after an NFL playoff game that lured over 37 million people.

The second episode aired after the return of "Prison Break" which pulled in only 7.89 million viewers and finished fourth in the time slot.

"Prison Break" has averaged a somewhat modest 8.08 million viewers this season. Last season the Wentworth Miller-fronted drama averaged a heftier 9.32 million viewers.

That means "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" has build on its lead-in making it a winner. But can the show hold on to those numbers or will it continue to bleed?

Meanwhile, NBC continues to score with its slate of reality shows. The network's "Deal Or No Deal" exceeded the recent ratings of the regular time slot occupant "Heroes," which is much more expensive and difficult to produce, by about 50%.

"Deal Or No Deal" was also the most watched show in America last night. Losers of the evening? ABC's "Notes from the Underbelly" and "October Road."

ABC:

8:00pm Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann (10.50 million)

9:30pm Notes From the Underbelly (4.75 million)

10:00pm October Road (4.89 million)

CBS:

8:00pm How I Met Your Mother ® (7.34 million)

8:30pm The Big Bang Theory ® (8.16 million)

9:00pm Two and a Half Men ® (11.49 million)

9:30pm Rules of Engagement ® (8.52 million)

10:00pm CSI: Miami (14.70 million)

NBC:

8:00pm American Gladiators (10.66 million)

9:00pm Deal or No Deal (15.00 million)

10:00pm Medium (9.54 million)

Fox:

8:00pm Prison Break (7.89 million)

9:00pm The Sarah Connor Chronicles (10.07 million)

CW:

8:00pm Everybody Hates Chris ® (2.04 million)

8:30pm Aliens in America ® (1.31 million)

9:00pm Girlfriends® (1.32 million)

9:30pm The Game ® (1.67 million)

The downfall begins.

I've enjoyed the show so far. It had some sketchy acting in some scenes and there are some plot holes already. But, I really love the Terminator universe and I am a big fan of the movies. I'll continue to watch it to see how it turns out.

Do NOT base the quality of a show solely on Continuity... that is a WRONG way to judge it.

The main thing is Acting, Story (But Ignoring Continuity of the 3 Terminator movies), and Action.

If those are good, then the show is Good. If those aren't good, then show isn't good, but those 3 are MY main factors for judging the show. Continuity is certainly NOT a big factor IMO.

While Continuity would be nice, but ultimately it DOESN'T matter, to me!

Well for some continuity is part of the backbone of any story, and for this particular show, I think it's crucial.

The biggest problem and confusion we'll see is having T3 being ignored, yet more movies being made as sequels to that very movie. We'll end up with two different turn of events for John Connor and Skynet through the show and movie, which is all the more confusing.

That said, I DO acknowledge the Acting, Action aren't that great yet for the Series Premiere. It was kinda of a Let down especially the Action aspect of it.

I CAN'T really judge the Plot yet, cuz it's just TWO episodes to base it on so far.

But, as History has shown many times(X-files, Smallvillle, Heroes), Pilot usually do NOT have the Best episode.

I can only hope that it gets better as season progresses.

And, Man, Lena Headey is one HOT MAMA *drool*

Smallville ignored/Changed a lot of Superman Continuity, but that's still a Great Quality TV show, IMO.

There were also Apple products too. Looks like a MacBook, though I don't know them intimately enough to spot them immediately. There's an Apple TV box in the background for sure, but it was an interesting thing that certain elements of Vista were there but not in mine :(

Of course the continuity should be judged. This is a lead in FROM the terminator movies. The show hasn't got a leg to stand on acting / story wise, but its still to early to tell. I thought the second episode came out a little better than the first, so there is a little hope.

Completely silly to compare this to Smallville, by the way. As Smallville is a rewrite of everything that is superman. It doesn't take place or lead in from any of the films.

All I want is a movie/show that has them fighting the machines in the future. Screw the present bull crap, its about time to jump foward.

+1

Let's see the war already

Sure, this is all a part of it, but now, it's silly

And back to Smallville/this show thing, All I am saying is I DON'T care about Continuity. If the Acting/Action is good, then it's a good show regardless of Continuity.

Movie is Movie. TV show is TV show, I don't care how both gotta be on the same page.

As long as Clark Kent end up Superman, and Lex Luthor ends up the enemy, Lois become Clark's love interest I don't care how much they change in the show... SAME with Terminator here.

damn the second ep is even worse than the 1st one... Now there are not even a new terminator every week there are more and more ppl comming from the future. Give me a break.

btw, in the 1st ep the terminator teacher ask for Reese and start shooting to John. But clearly in the 1st movie (yea, that one when the actual governor wasnt that popular) the machines didnt know the name of the father, just Sarah and her son.

And that is just one of the fails of this show. I wont start because this will be a never ending and ending in nothing discussion.

Continuity is certainly NOT a big factor IMO.

whats the point of the series then?

Reese was the last name of the John Connor's father, who came from the future, and considers future John Connor his closest friend.
