cd burner

I have an Hp computer with a built in cd burner. I installed Roxio Easy CD creator 5 last night and I tried to burn something this morning and the pos won't burn. It reads cd's that were already burned and has stuff on them, but not blank ones. Its like it doesn;t even recognize my drive.

I unistalled E cd Creator and it still doesn;t work. I deleted the driver in the device manager and restarted and it still doesn't recognize blank cd's.... I'm on WinXP Pro, does anyone know how to solve this?

Have you tried using Nero? That will work since I'm running a HP CD-Writer as well and it worked fine for me!

Thanks for responding, but the built in program XP uses for buring files won't even recognize blank cd's. If I get Nero do you still think it may work?

Try installing an ASPI layer. Sounds like your problem. Even an ASPI layer designed for Windows 2000 will (likely, no guaruntees) will work.

I had a similar problem before when I upgraded my HP MyCD software, but I just downgraded and it worked!
