My foobar won't display unicode characters (I'm trying Korean right now) but it does work. the unicode characters from foobar shows in the MSN "now playing" function and on last.fm. but on the foobar window it will show simply as "squares"

I've tried "settings" on the playlist pannels and changed fonts but didn't work. I also tried going to preferences > display > default user interface but it says it is already using one and I can't change it.

All my other programs such as Winamp, Windows Media Player and MSN can display unicode characters so it means I do have it installed.

I really think it has something to do with the font but where exactly do I change it and which one should I use?

I have this problem too. :(

This is what i have achieved , no way looks close to his first post.

I must have 100% gone wrong somewhere.

Awesome config mate. I'm seriously thinking about forgetting winamp

But there are two problems which stop me from that. Could you help me?

1) foobar freezes when I try to change font in Lyric Show Panels.

2) foobar erases embed file lyrics and genre and adds a comment like 00FCX000F at the end of each track. That's really awful, cause I need lyrics and genres for my iPod.

Thanks in advance for your help.

And sorry for my English :]

upd. oh and I couldn't turn on the visualizer.

err I'm a complete newbie :-[

Firstly uninstall ur current foobar.

Download the latest version i.e. 0.9.4.3

From Here: http://www.foobar2000.org/foobar2000_0.9.4.3.exe

And install it

Then Download everything mentioned on the first page

1.> copy all components to "components" folder

- Foo_playcount

- lyric show modded

- Foo_peakmeter

- Panels_UI 0.13.8

- Cwb Hooks

- Album Art panel

- Columns UI

- Album List

- Lyrics DB

- QuickSearch Toolbar

Optional:

- WSH Panels

- WMPVis

Extract all the dll's to the components folder in foobar directory

C:\Program Files\foobar2000\components

2.> Then DOWNLOAD config [Foo_AvA_1.03_by_dawxxx666_24.06.2007][most important file]

Link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/605zzn

Right click the rar and extract to a folder "X".

X= any folder[but dont extract to the foobar folder]

then you will get a file "Foo_AvA_1.03_by_dawxxx666_24.06.2007" with a foobar icon.

which is a self extracting archive now dont extract it to the foobar folder

instead extract this to any folder and this will be the files in that folder.

Install all the fonts from the Foobar_Fonts.exe which is a self extracting archive.

fooava1pt6.png

Let this folder be called "X"

3.> Create a folder named "PanelsUI" in foobar's directory

Like this C:\Program Files\foobar2000\PanelsUI

Copy images folder , DAWXXX666_AVA_preferences.dx6 , DAWXXX666_AVA_1.03 from folder "X"

to the C:\Program Files\foobar2000\PanelsUI path.

Now the most important part.

4.> Now start foobar and select panels ui

fooava2id2.png

Now at this stage click "Ctrl + P" and you will get this screen.

fooava4jk1.png

Here Select Panels UI at the side and then select DAWXXX666_AVA_1.03.pui

Click Save All and you are done.

Hope this info will help you setup ur foobar ava

maybe it's because "playcount_mod" writes play statistics into the .mp3 files and does it using ID3v2.4 format, windows can't read that format properly, at least in my system. your music is fine though, and foobar shows info no problem.

Looks like the Lyrics tags are being overwritten too. So it could be a combination of playcount and lyrics show settings that overwrites your tags.

I needed my mp3's untouched so I turned off every setting in playcount, have lyrics show write lyrics to separate txt files, and made all my music "read-only."

the people with the unicode problems is because the default font on the config doesn't support Hangul (korean) you need to change the font to something that does. its unfortunate because that default font is just badass and it can read japanese and chinese but not korean. i had to change all the fonts in my config to Tohoma in order to get hangul to display properly

But where Exactly I change the font? Whatever I try the font will always look the same. I can only change between the 2 fonts on the (Hooge 5_53 and default) on the settings.

It also won't display characters such as "Я"

Thanks that worked for them!

What about the artist pictures then?

they just need to be named "artist.jpg" and put in the same folder. same with "back.jpg" for back cd cover. I figure this out myself, hope it works for you.
