How many more years are Liverpool gonna say that tho, you have backing, you have the players and you have the boss it just seems every year there is something missing.

Its hard because you are right, we do have the players, and the backing but i believe its Rafa rotation policy that is killing us. Why can't he just play the best players most of the games with our normal formation? It was very hard to understand why he did what he did tonight, infact i don't know if it was more of a insult to reading changing the formaton like that.

Reading are a very good team, but they did not derserve to win by 3-1, it really should of been a draw. We still had far more chances than they did and if we actually played our normal style, we would of crushed them.

What was Rafa thinking when he took Gerrard off? :|

that there wasnt much left in the game for them to salvage, so instead rested him in preperation for Marseilla and Manchester United. i never like to see him taken off but sometimes it does have to be done. 3-1 down, with not long left, theres no point risking an injury or a booking.

Yesterday's game annoyed me so much. The referee yesterday was laughable, I mean, Reading's penalty was not even in the box, Liverpool should of had three clear penalties, and all the little niggly decisions that make all the difference where given to Reading. The game was a joke.

The team that was selected should of been able to beat Reading. I mean, the team was very strong and it was not like we rested Torres and Gerrard. They both played. We could have played better, but in the end we where just a bit unlucky.

I still believe though that we can win the league this season, I just don't think we can win the Champions League and the Premier League. I mean, Rafa's team today was obviously based on the games against Marseille and Manchester United. If we did not have to worry about Marseille we could have completely focused on Reading and got the result.

There is nothing wrong with rotation. I noticed how NO ONE mentioned a thing about rotation before Reading, where in the last five games we scored 21 goals and conceded just 1!

In modern football you need to select the players who are best for the job. Different players suit different games, for instance Sissoko and Crouch are better used away from home as they can break up the play (Sissoko) and hold up the ball (Crouch), whereas players like Benayoun and Garcia (still miss the little blighter) are more players for home. The XI players cannot play every game of the season (60 games!), it is just physically impossible.

If we played Reading on another day with the same team and tactics, and without that biased git of a referee, we would easily out class Reading.

As for Gerrard, Torres and Carragher being subbed off. We do have a very important game against Marseille on Tuesday, followed by THAT game against the Mancs. Rafa had realised that there was no way back in, so he rested some of our key players (and prevented them getting booked (Carra) and injured). He took a calculated risk for Tuesday. Anyway, players like Kewell and Babel coming on just shows the strength in depth we have.

Well that happened didn't it ;)

It was a joke. Man United did the same thing as last season against us, get the one goal and just defend. we had 3 times as many shots than they did which shows they went out with a game plan. The goal was a "being there at the right time" and tevez was. Ok we didnt play that well, bur we were far better than United and somehow they are walked away with the 3 points. There were extremly luck to win, let alone draw the match. I am totally ****ed off actually.

I rather have Arsenal win the title than cheating United.

That was probably the worst match I have seen all season. It was pretty boring and nothing much happened besides Van der Sar's clamities.

Liverpool played crap, Man Utd played crap. The difference between the two sides was that Tevez was in the right place at the right time.

Yea i agree. The same thing happened last year. Man United had a free kick and O'Shea scored in the last minute. Both teams played crap but Man United fans are going on as if they derserved to win, which they didn't. Arsenal are a much better team than Man United.

Might aswell kiss the title for yet another season....When are we ever going to actually come really close to winning the league??

Man utd may of been defensive but if liverpool did not have the will or skill to go ahead and score then they simply did not deserve to win. Pompey were similer against Aston Villa. Defending most of the time, yet aston villa really didn't have much of an attacking game. Oh yeah and we still beat them 3-0 . They were so comitted to attacking, we could easly counter attacking in one pass!

Man Utd are a good side, I remember last season they were struggling for goals. Yet the set pieces can win games and they did.

omg there's a premierleague thread! I just spotted this in recent forum posts, I've been missing out!!!

Watch it, our away form is good and you can't have muntari.

haha I don't think they'd be intrested if they knew they weren't gonna lose Mascherano. Loan times up!

Yeah you had won your last six away games...until today :D

I was sitting in The Kop which is opposite the away section next to Anfield Road, so I had a good view of your fans. You where quite bouncy when Benjani scored :p
