Steve Bennett is an idiot. Mascherano yes overreacted, but the referee was so shambolic that I am not surprised. The Man Utd players made far worse fouls than Mascherano did and never got booked. In one case, Ryan Giggs fell into Mascherano and pushed him to the floor and the free kick was awarded to Man Utd. WTF! Andy Gray got it stop on IMO over the whole Mascherano situation.

i can't disagree with that, mascherano didn't deserve a yellow in the first place. the announcers i was listening to couldn't understand it. the color commentator thought the whole cashley cole incident are making the refs power hungry, why can't a player ask why? that's not unfair. Refs want respect, respect the players back.

Kuyt did well today. You have to look at the options, who else are you going to play in his place? Pennant? I rate Pennant, but this game was not for him today, we needed someone who could track back and help contain Man Utd. As for Babel, he is a good player and one for the future. Arbeloa single handedly contained Messi last season in the Champions League, and Steve Finnan (the alternative) was injured.

Kyut is good, i am not going ot argue that, but pennant instead of babel in a heartbeat. Pennant is awesome at controlling the sidelines and has the vision to find the guys in the middle. The middle that should be filled with crouch insanely tall figure and same with the coners, there is no better weapon on corners then crouch.

Anyway, you where not arguing with the team selection when we won those seven games in a row (and we played more or less the same team as today).

you are also missing the fact about what i said about those games. I said it would be embarassing if we didn't win them, i was arguing about team selection. We played weaker teams (and yes inter is one of them because they were down to ten men both games) so really, with a side like liverpools they should have beaten those teams no matter what and they did. And also the first game against inter it toke pennant and crouch coming in to do it.

Well Torres was subbed because he had picked up a knock, that is a fact so you can't really moan about that. The reason Crouch is not playing as much is because he does not really fit into the whole (successful) 4-2-3-1 system when you need a bit of pace and not a target man up front. I love Crouch and Pennant like you do, but you have to choose the players who will achieve the best results. I'd like to see Pennant play a little bit more in place of Kuyt though.

fair enough, the game was lost at that point but i don't know why bring on riise... I would like to see torress up front, and crouch behind him in more of an attacking role and pennant beside courch in a more of a midfielder role.

At the end of the day though, it was a **** poor performance all around. I hate nothing more than to lose against the Mancs (and I really wanted to beat them today to dent their title hopes), but today was just not our day. Hopefully, we can get our season back on track against Everton next week.

Good post by the way Sharpy (Y).

yeah, it wasn't a really good game by the boys, pepe did makes some nice saves though.

On a more positive note, how about 3,000 Liverpool fans outsinging 75,000 "Mancs" (well not Mancs really because they are from all over the country).

You'll Never Walk Alone.

it's true You'll Never Walk Alone.

Torres is a failure at holding up the ball, one aspect of his game that he needs to work on. A viewing of the, Arsenal - Ac Milan watching Adebayor may teach him something about leading the line.

Plus if any of you guys watched MOTD they showed Mascherano having a snipe at the ref on a regylar basis throughout the match so it wasn't just that one time he got booked for.

I think that football needs more control. You don't see this kind of behaviour in rugby.

fixed. :p

And I'm an Arsenal fan. Drogba destroyed us last night. Samsonbayor can never lead the frontline on his own, Drogba can.

I take back what i said the other week about the This Is Anfield sign, seems today every Liverpool player touched it.Woop

3-1 i think final score will be, Torres, Gerrard and then some randomer.lol

And Chelsea, RIDICULOUSLY lucky towardsthe end, Boro' must of hit the post about 5 times.

Wahey,

Torres has already scored. Woop!

wow Newcastle 4-1 over Spurs, makes you think where the real Newcastle have been hiding all this time.

My thoughts exactly! As a Newcastle fan I am over the moon with the result. Puts us in 12th, 9 points clear of the drop zone and above Sunderland (which is the most important! :D )

FULL TIME - WOOHOO!! The atmosphere in Newcastle will be fantastic tonight!!!

I never really thought they would go down because of the experience of the players.
