chconline Veteran Posted July 10, 2007 Veteran Share Posted July 10, 2007 What's the best driving sim -- meaning the most realistic one (feels real, acts real, will stall if not shifted correctly) -- that fully supports Logitech's G25 racing wheel including the clutches, shifters, etc? Thanks in advance :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/573047-best-driving-sim-that-fully-supports-logitech-g25/ Share on other sites
HawkMan
I don't play it, but I'm pretty sure the best answer and the one you will hear most form the serius PC driving sim plaers is GTR/GTR2 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/573047-best-driving-sim-that-fully-supports-logitech-g25/#findComment-588691074 Share on other sites
CrashG
I don't play it, but I'm pretty sure the best answer and the one you will hear most form the serius PC driving sim plaers is GTR/GTR2 Yep, you'll have to check out GTR2. (feels real, acts real, will stall if not shifted correctly) I'm not sure if it will stall/cut out if not shifted right though. El-Diablo
Test drive unlimited had a clutch option, but it wasn't simulation. cjb1118
Live for Speed should be what you're looking for, although you can't stall the car (yet). sundayx Veteran Posted July 11, 2007 Veteran Share Posted July 11, 2007 I'm sure is the best driving simulator... but the G35 comes damn close. Lingwo
Live for Speed and GTR2 are probably the best games to show off the greatness of the G25 (I own one). Ianwoollam
Nascar Racing 2003 with the GTP Mod :p Graphics are showing its age compared to games like rFactor, LFS and GTR2 nowadays, but its still by far the best driving physics imo :) A few others you should check out - GTR2 LFS rFactor (So many mods for it, my favourite is the V8 Supercars around Bathurst :D) Race GT Legends Theres also NetKar Pro, but that games buggy as hell still... Also theres Grand Prix Legends which I believe can have downloads to support the shifter and enable Force Feedback, but that game really is showing its age seen as it was made in 1998, even though it still dosn't look half bad! quazimodem
GTR2 and Test Drive Unlimited are definitely two of the best car racing games out right now?which?I'm?sure?would?support?your?wheel. ?Hopefully you have a gaming rig that can handle the game in full detail though. ?Ianwoollam mentioned NASCAR Racing 2003 is another great racing game as well but that game is long retired. ?Still one of the best... definitely a classic. ? Ianwoollam
Nascar Racing 2003 has been long retired when Papyrus went bump, but alot of people still play it alot! The GTP mod brought a massive amount of new life into the game, However iRacing decided to sue anyone modding NR2003 and the GTP mod had to be abandoned :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/573047-best-driving-sim-that-fully-supports-logitech-g25/#findComment-588720103 Share on other sites

Unimatrix Xero
yup tried it last night, but race as a weird problem even with the clutch in and revs going the car still stalls :s ohh well auto cluth for race then rfactor is very arcadey in my eyes, GTR2 and Test Drive Unlimited are far the best for Clutch and gear combo, just need tracker IR now :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/573047-best-driving-sim-that-fully-supports-logitech-g25/#findComment-588720129 Share on other sites
Ianwoollam
rfactor is very arcadey in my eyes, GTR2 and Test Drive Unlimited are far the best for Clutch and gear combo, just need tracker IR now :) The deafult series that come with rFactor are very poor, but there are alot of mods around for rFactor which apparantly make it a hell of alot better, Porsche Carrera Challenge Mod and CDTP's F1 2006 mod's spring to mind. If I remember rightly GT Legends and GTR2 both use rFactors rendering model and a very similar physics model. To be honest though I don't like rFactor myself :p I always find it way too understeery and the cars just seem to have no feel, never tried out GTR2 though so may have to give that a go.
