Adobe CS3

Question

Quickie.

Has anyone noticed that the new CS3 products by Adobe take a ****ing age to install? Its insane. Premiere Pro CS3 took over an hour and if you install the Design Suite, you may as well install it and leave your computer running and go to bed. Might be done in the morning but only maybe. Uninstalling takes roughly the same time.

Yet once installed these products fly. Whats going on!?

I agree here defiantly, I've installed CS2 on a few computers in the past, CS3 (design premium) took at least 3 times as long to install on all of them! Even on a macbook, their new installer must do some crazy crap.

Oh, you should listen to the warning on closing apps at the beginning too, dont open firefox after you start running the installation, I did, and it stalled for about 20 mins on "installing shared components", for god know what reason.

Anyway yes, its dog slow to install now.

It's your computer.

Good point. I expect great things from you in the future.

I remember photoshop cs2 and other cs2 products which would install quick but then take 4 times as long installing its useless "help files".

Now you just dont know why its taking so long, it just is.

However the reason why Premeire Pro CS3 keeps crashing on me is unknown. And the memory usage? Its insane. By the time I open the programme, then my project and do ANYTHING, i get a prompt stating "Running low on memory, save your work and pray to the gods" or something like that! CS2 didnt give me those problems. So its not my computer. Me thinks its Vista.

When I try to export a movie the **** freezes on me for no reason. See attached.
