Here are the Ice warriors back in the old days...

Trout_IceWarriors.jpg

Wonder what they look like now?

Me too. The cybermen early in the original series carried huge electrical boxes on their chests and now they assume a very modern look.

I am not surprised by the Daleks' return, seeing how they appeared in every season of the revived series. :s

But really, if you look at the history of Doctor Who, he made a lot of powerful enemies. Where have they gone? lol

Also, he needs to get away from Earth. xD

A poster on the GallifreyBase forums claims that David Tennant's Doctor is alone when he dies/regenerates. It's heartbreaking and you won't see it coming. [GallifreyBase]

And The Sun, a British tabloid which is known for its pinpoint accuracy (if you have a large enough pin, that is) claims that Blackadder creator Richard Curtis will write an episode of season five, featuring Matt Smith. And Curtis reportedly says "There will be a monster. And a famous historical figure will battle the monster." [The Sun]

Overall story summary: "Sarah Jane has met Peter Dalton and wants him to become part of her life; to become a father to Luke perhaps. But Clyde thinks Peter is hiding a secret or two of his own, especially when he and Rani find an empty house where Peter says his home should be..."

Part one summary: "The Doctor returns on the happiest day of Sarah Jane's life - but a deadly trap is waiting for them all! As the strands of a clever and careful plan draw together, can even a Time Lord save Sarah Jane, on the day of her arch-enemy's greatest triumph?"

Part two summary: "The Doctor joins the battle - but is it too late to save both Sarah Jane and the Earth itself? As the power of the Pantheon of Discord grows in strength, the old friends are separated across different time zones, and must fight to save each other - but for one, there's a terrible price to pay."

The third series begins on October 15th, with David's episode (The Wedding Of Sarah Jane Smith) airing on October 29th and 30th, on BBC1.

Well, it's pretty obvious neither Sarah Jane nor the Doctor will get nuked in this two-parter. Wouldn't make much sense to kill off the main character and title character of SJA. And the Doctor has two more specials to air. Unless the SJA episodes take place AFTER the next special but before the final one? I dunno.

Plus, Sarah Jane's kid will probably croak, or that robot doggy lol

A poster on the Gallifrey Base forums claims to have a list, from an inside source, of which writers will be writing which episodes in season five. If he's to be believed, Steven Moffat will be writing the first, fourth, fifth, seventh, twelfth, and thirteenth episodes; Mark Gatiss the second episode, which features Daleks in WWII; Gareth Roberts the third; Richart Curtis number five; Torchwood's Chris Chibnall the eighth and ninth; Neil Gaiman the tenth; and Toby Whithouse will write the eleventh episode. And the list puts the story featuring Professor River Song in episodes four and five. Note: This is purely a rumor, and should be taken with many, many truckloads of salt. Neil Gaiman has never said he is writing for Doctor Who, and there's no actual evidence that he is doing so. [Gallifrey Base]

Returning to more evidence-backed claims, another poster has images of the set, but Matt Smith is still hiding his wardrobe. The pictures do include a glimpse of a new guest star, Annette Crosbie.

Dr Who end a 'brilliant send-off'

The final scenes in Doctor Who are a "brilliant send-off" for David Tennant, his co-star has said.

The Life On Mars actor John Simm returns as The Doctor's nemesis, The Master, in a two-part Christmas special.

He says he had loads of fun working on David Tennant's last episode, which are now complete.

"It's all done," he said. "I've just spoken to David (Tennant) and he hasn't seen it either. We're doing some dubbing and we go in and do the voice-overs.

"Hopefully we'll see a bit of it then. I'm looking forward to seeing it. It was a great script and we had such fun doing it.

"It'll be a brilliant send-off for Mr Tennant. Last time I did it it was such fun to do. It was wonderful to be asked back and to be in the very, very last one.

"To go head-to-head with him was a really honour. It was lovely to be asked. It was a great, great experience. We had such fun doing it. Hopefully it'll come across."

Simm says one of the main reasons he chose to appear in Doctor Who was because of his son.

He first appeared as The Doctor's nemesis, The Master, in 2007 in a special three-part end to the last series.

The role means the actor's eight-year-old son Ryan can now watch at least one of the programmes he appears in.

He said: "The things I usually do on TV or film are quite adult and he doesn't get to see it.

"He knew his dad was an actor but I never got the chance to prove it to him because he's not allowed to watch Life On Mars or Human Traffic or State Of Play. He wouldn't get it, thank God.

"It was a great opportunity to make my son proud."

Heroic set reporter Alun.Vega was Twittering from the filming, just as we were wrapping up this edition of morning spoilers. Apparently Matt Smith was on set, wearing David Tennant's suit ? which was much the worse for wear, with lots of rips, as if Tennant had been caught in an explosion. And it appears that Amy, his new companion, is a police officer when he meets her. They filmed in the fake 1990s village of Leadworth, complete with a fake garden set up around a "White House." (But not THE White House.) And Amy says something to the Doctor about "twelve years of therapy." Amy and the Doctor run to an ice cream truck. (Possibly due to weird post-regeneration food cravings?)

Also, there's a fire truck parked near the White House, and lots of extras stand stock still, as if frozen, holding their mobile phones as if they were in the middle of taking a picture of something. More pics at the second link. [Alun_Vega on Twitter and Flickr]

The new Rose has legs that go all the way up...

...also does anyone else want to move to "Leadworth" and start a life of crime if thats the sort of women cops?

I'd break the law more if the policewomen looked like that :p

The logo - the eleventh incarnation in the show's history - will form part of a revamped title sequence in the new run, which airs from next Spring and sees Matt Smith take over from David Tennant as the titular Time Lord.

Showrunner Steven Moffat said: "A new logo. The eleventh logo for the eleventh Doctor - those grand old words, Doctor Who, suddenly looking newer than ever. And look at that, something really new - an insignia! DW in TARDIS form! Simple and beautiful, and most important of all, a completely irresistible doodle. I apologise to school notebooks everywhere, because in 2010 that's what they're going to be wearing."
