[Official] Doctor Who Thread

Recommended Posts

This week Sylvester McCoy, Colin Baker and Paul McGann were interviewed on an Australian breakfast show and pointed out the obvious fact that they couldn?t be involved as they are currently in another country doing conventions while the 50th anniversary shoots in the UK.

Further to that McCoy appears very genuine when he says: ?All the fan bases all over the world believe that [everyone should be involved], but not the producers at the BBC.?

McCoy still looks like himself, just older. Paul McGann doesn't age apparently. Maybe he really has a Tardis. Colin Baker, well, he's a bit older than McCoy (not by much if memory serves) but man, either time (haha get it!) hasn't been kind to him, or maybe he has health problems or something? Either way, he looks nothing like his old Doctor self. He even said that in the interview.

McCoy seems like a totally eccentric person, kinda like his Doctor :D

The BBC have released the synopsis for the upcoming Doctor Who episode, Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS - read it below. The story airs in the UK and North America on April 27 and in Australia, Poland and South Africa a day later.

"A spaceship salvage team drags the TARDIS on board, sending its systems into meltdown. As the Doctor marshals the motley salvage crew outside, he realises Clara is still trapped within his malfunctioning ship, pursued by a dangerous group of ossified monsters. He has just 30 minutes to find Clara and save his TARDIS before it self-destructs"

They really should air this later in the evening, I'm always bloody busy! Thank you Sky+ (I still hate Sky [newscorp]) and iPlayer!

This one kinda fell flat for me in the last half... sigh. I love DW, and this season is iffy for me in general. odd stories, the doctor is scared each episode, and the companion seems to be taking a lot of screen time, doing... well, nothing but chewing scenes.

'Hide' airs at 6.45pm on Saturday 20 April on BBC One. To whet your appetite, here are hints for the episode...

? A reference made in 'Army of Ghosts' is made here.

? It looks like the name of the show might change...

? A rather meta reference to '70s Doctor Who is made.

? There is a Scooby Doo moment.

? The Doctor comments on the heat of Clara's underwear.

? Something we see in 'The Five Doctors' is seen here.

? The Doctor's been rummaging through David Tennant's wardrobe.

? That's an interesting pronunciation of a Pertwee era planet.

? A noise not heard in some time is heard again.

? Clara and the TARDIS are not getting on.

No. I'm beginning to think Moffatt is a lousy executive producer.

I've thought that since he took the reigns sadly.... I really loved Doctor Who, I don't want it to be like this!!! :(

so far i have been rather disappointed with the stories of each episode. We are getting a bit more information about Clara and getting used to her character however, I just do not think the overarching story is doing very well at the moment. with only 5 episodes remaining this series i hope they pick up the pace and start getting somewhere.

I think the switch to the "movie every week" style is hurting the show more than anything else frankly. They should just go back to linked episodes, like 2 or 3 etc then a new story starts or whatever. Either way, Moffat is a decent enough writer, but I am really starting to miss Davies.
