The absorbatron was created by a kid in a competition and creators tweaked the design a bit.

I'd rather have a full series like in the old days - 1/2 hour episodes, say, 36 of them to create maybe 8-12 full stories. The serial format allowed for better storytelling when used effectively. (And a lot of story padding when used poorly.)

Shada is going to be finally completed ... again! It was only "finally completed" at least twice before!  It was released on video with Tom Baker as an older version of the 4th Doctor narrating the missing sections, effectively 4 telling us the story. It was redone with 8 and Lord President Romana (somehow completing the actions of their earlier selves.)

I am in fact waiting to take delivery of the Big Finish version of Shada, got it on sale a few weeks back.
