Since I did not have this problem on XP with the same setup, I figure it must be a Vista compatibility issue.

Occasionally when I play a game, the game stops responding. I ctr-alt-del, and the only other process that is running is Asus ACPI Center. This process was not running before I started up the game, nor was it running while the game was functioning corrently. Each time the game crashes, this process is running.

How do I remove Asus ACPI Center (it is not in my uninstall options, nor have I found it via the search function)?

You can disable the hardware component that corrosponds to it in the BIOS

It is under Power Options on my P5K SE

I'll post the exact name later since the wife is playing The Sims 2 on that machine I can't boot into the BIOS.

Thanks for the info. I found it in the BIOS as "ACPI APIC Support." The problem is it's set to enabled and "grayed" out to where I can't change it.

The other ACPI related thing is "ACPI Suspend Type" with options of S1&S3, S1(POS), and S3(STR). I have tried all three options, but the "ACPI APIC Support" remains grayed out.

Any ideas?
