bayrider
Boffa... go to My Team and pick a date in october... like opening day on the 3rd. You set up your rosters for that day based on who's playing, their position and whether or not you want them to play that night. you'll see in the main page (under League) that you are paired up against another player. Click on Match Up and there are stat categories at the top. Whoever wins a category receives one point. Whoever has the most category wins (points) wins. Fred Derf Veteran Posted September 16, 2007 Veteran Share Posted September 16, 2007 On second thought though, with my goalies... Montreal better come out strong...(I have never done a fantasy league... anyone have a quick rundown on how this works?) Yes, as bayrider said, you'd need to advance your calendar to October before any eligible games show up. Then it is a matter of slotting in the players you want into the active positions. Players on your bench (BN) will not accumulate points so it's best to try to fit them in someplace. You'll find this hard to do on Saturdays, for example, when you'll likely have to make decisions about who to start and who to sit on the bench. Of course the computer probably picked a fairly nice balance for you so you probably don't have a gaping hole on left wing. You can set up your rosters for the entire week in advance (or even longer) but if you make a trade or pick up a free agent then it will force you to redo all that work. Some people sit with their drafted players more or less and only deal with injuries and suspensions. I am a total player slut that will probably make 100 transactions. Yet, for some reason, I stuck with Andrew Raycroft for most of last season (and we shall not again mention the "trade" involving M.A. Fleury). Boffa Jones Veteran Posted September 16, 2007 Veteran Share Posted September 16, 2007 Yeah, I just tried to grab raycroft because other than that I couldn't see many goalies and I am stuck with the entire habs goalie lineup which doesn't seem like a good idea. R-Flex
I knew I'd miss the draft, but I completely forgot to order my player list. It isn't terribly bad- It may even do well. I'll give it a shot. I may even win, but very tough competition this year. Fred Derf Veteran Posted September 19, 2007 Veteran Share Posted September 19, 2007 I'll spend my 1st place waiver pick on Toews. At least he'll get ice time with Chicago. Boffa Jones Veteran Posted September 20, 2007 Veteran Share Posted September 20, 2007 I have been flying in circles over Forsberg, but I can't decide if it will be worth it or not. dEs0lAt0r
Problem with forsberg is pretty much why i didnt draft selanne or neidermayer, at the earliest they will be playing in january from what I hear, which is a long time to just keep them in a roster spot Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/584506-fantasy-hockey-season-2007-08/page/3/#findComment-588863565 Share on other sites

Fred Derf Veteran Posted September 22, 2007 Veteran Share Posted September 22, 2007 Have I mentioned recently that I am getting progressively more worried about my LW situation? Last year the additional position eligibilities were added before the draft. I've got less than two weeks before total panic mode. bayrider
I hope they do something about that. Fred Derf Veteran Posted September 25, 2007 Veteran Share Posted September 25, 2007 I looks like they plan to start the season this way and add eligibility once a player reaches a certain number of games in that position. That wasn't how it was done last year. Fred Derf Veteran Posted October 2, 2007 Veteran Share Posted October 2, 2007 After waiting patiently for Yahoo to add additional position eligibilities for a very long time, I finally went out to acquire a LWer. I have a gut feeling that they will update the positions by tomorrow but I was getting a little nervous looking at the big hole in my roster. Just watch me end up with a shortage of Centres now. I do actually have a surplus of marginal centres but that's only because I'm hoping one is a lucky lottery ticket. If they don't get off to a good start, I may pull the panic button on a few of them. We'll see. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/584506-fantasy-hockey-season-2007-08/page/3/#findComment-588891322 Share on other sites
BMac
I totally forgot about the draft so I am not happy at all about my team. ANYONE is movable. Make me an offer and I'll probably consider it. Jokinen is probably my biggest asset that I won't hesitate giving up. Just don't totally try and burn me and you'll likely get a deal. I offered you Brad Richards for someone. For whatever reason, I don't have much of an emotional attachment to Brad Richards. Maybe it's because he plays is Tampa but he just doesn't seem exciting enough to hold my interest. At that high a ranking I'd rather have a guy who can break a game open even if that means hot and cold streaks or risk of injury. I guess that's why I drafted Gaborik against many people's best advice. Brad Richards just seems too reliable for me. :) I was tempted to ask for Jokinen but I ended up asking for someone lower ranked since I thought that had a higher chance of acceptance. mikebiacsi
Typical, i trade away Brunette and he has a 3 point game. Hopefully that doesn't happen too often and Smyth starts raking in the points. I know it's early in the season, but still, it's not a good omen for the rest of the year.
