Manic9803
speaking of ignorance...I don't need to try it to knock it. I've tried to put it simple terms to you, about comparing different classes of vehicles, but your comprehension skills are not fully developed yet or all that rattling from your stiff ride has knocked some wires loose and i don't mean in the engine bay. Wait a minute, another post of yours with no supporting information. Your degrading a vehicle you never drove, sit down son before you hurt yourself. Dont be upset that your vehicle of choice dosent add up to others. And way to take swings at me (loose wires) your a real bad ass arent ya . Sorry that your taste is so plain maybe when you learn how to carry on a conversation/argument you will do better next time being that your getting schooled here. raskren
Well you guys fail to realize that this car is still a 15-16 second car, SS or not. I ran a Malibu SS (or another chevy family car thats an SS) and its a slow car none the less. Why would you want a FRONT wheel drive car anyhow? I own a 4 door car, with more hp and torque and its ALL wheel drive. I dont understand who would purchase a 4 door, FWD car for any reason. RWD or AWD. No disrespect meant to anyone just stating the facts. Plus american cars, compared to imports.... 1.)Dependability. 2.) Cost 3.)Resale value 4.) Gas mileage 5.) quality. list goes on and on. You do realize that most cars in this price segment are FWD...right? You do realize that not everyone can afford an AWD or RWD car...right? You do realize that everyone is NOT YOU...right? And to you second point, do you have any facts or studies to back up your opinion? FYI, I'm driving an 2001 Saturn SL1 with 102,000 miles on the odometer. The only problem it has had was a bad throttle position sensor a few years back. It cost $14,000 new. It still gets 35-37 MPG on the highway. The interior and exterior are still in great shape. Your gross sterotyping of domestic vehicles doesn't apply here. Your degrading a vehicle you never drove... *Newsflash* So are you. raskren
Oh wait whats so great about AWD? Well you have more control, better in bends, better in snow/slick areas where the FWD will spin/loose control. 4WD can increase the relative amount of traction while the car is accelerating and that's it. It does not improve handling or "control." AWD cars have a tendency to understeer just like their FWD counterparts. Nice try passing your opinions as facts once again. While all-wheel- and four-wheel-drive vehicles have the ability to accelerate, it is important to remember that they are not quite as agile when it comes to turning and stopping quickly. The sense of confidence drivers have in these systems breaks down since they no longer have any advantage when it comes to cornering and braking. This is due to the fact the increased weight of these systems (and vehicles) requires more traction to stop and turn than that needed to perform the same functions on the two-wheel-drive counterpart. http://www.autotrader.com/research/car-saf...sp?restype=used In addition, a common misconception is that 4WD and AWD systems help in all driving situations. In fact, those systems provide added traction only when accelerating. They do not help in braking or cornering. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/cars/ne...f-4wd/index.htm Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/584558-new-chevy-malibu-interior/page/3/#findComment-588862618 Share on other sites

You do realize that not everyone can afford an AWD or RWD car...right? It doesn't help that RWD is kept to the high-powered cars. As for the whole 'understeer' debate, car makers make their cars understeer a fraction when stock because it's safer than it spinning as it can be controlled more when it's gripping ;) And they can't be sued if the driver didn't steer enough, when if it spins it would be the manufacturers fault, legally, even though the driver shouldn't be in the car if s/he can't control it. shockz
what's with the huge muffler? Thats how GM does their mufflers... I think they've been like that since 1999. When I first saw it on my car... I thought it was part of the gas tank. No, it wouldn't. If you buy a gun and kill someone with it is the manufacturer responsible...no! wst50
Misworded it. It would appear to be the manufacturers fault, and it would really kill off sales.
