Hum
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -- A man robbing a bank demanded the money by writing a note on one of his own checks, authorities say. Not surprisingly, he was caught soon afterward. Forest Kelly Bissonnette, 27, apparently tried to cover his name on the check, then handed the note to a teller Sept. 5 at the Bank of the West in Englewood, according to authorities. ''We could still make it out even though he blacked it out,'' FBI agent Rene VonderHaar said. Nearly $5,000 was taken. Surveillance video showed a suspect similar to Bissonnette's description, and a tipster said a man named Forest Kelly claimed he got $5,000 in a bank robbery, according to a federal complaint. Bissonnette remained in federal custody Tuesday after turning himself in Friday. A public defender was to be appointed for Bissonnette, who doesn't have a listed phone number. source Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/587199-bank-robber-uses-own-check-in-robbery/ Share on other sites

gigapixels Veteran Posted September 12, 2007 Veteran Share Posted September 12, 2007 Didn't the bank have deposit slips? I mean seriously, there are far too many possibilities other than your own check... What a moron. Though he was a moron anyway for deciding to commit the crime, but still. Though he was a moron anyway for deciding to commit the crime, but still. I think now, most banks have done away with slips and use electronic means to deal with that. I know Bank of Montreal, TD Canada Trust, and Scotia Bank have ALL done away with any paper on their counters, and you just swipe your card when you get up there, tell the teller what you want, and get a receipt.BUT SURELY, the bank had a bit of paper lying around?
