bangbang023 Veteran Posted September 27, 2007 Veteran Share Posted September 27, 2007 rofl what a joke Not really. If they give a date and miss it, the entire web starts bitching like a bunch of idiots. They're being honest. Seems fair enough to me.
northwood28
never mind about release date, I've just asked that by the way...beta2 is working just fine for simple mp3 playing ;)...after some time playing songs, memory usage is so low :) (lowest for me 1.9MB)
bruNo_
well, I removed plug-ins as Tem described here (modern skin support, ouput, visualization, dsp/effect and general purpose plugins) . If you cannot remove some plugins (like crasher report) just delete .dll and one .exe file (can't remember the name exactly) file from Plugins directory in Program Files/Winamp...;) I've done all that since Winamp got its first plugins :)...then customize your winamp as you wish :) here you can find tweak guide for Winamp: link my config: p4 2.8C, 875P chipset & 1GB DDR400... thanks! winamp is running ok now. btw, is there anyway to everytime i create a playlist, the media library updates it on playlist section? mancode20
What happened to being able to drag and drop multiple files into the playlist? Everytime I do it the file being played and on my playlist is replaced by the one I'm dragging and dropping. You used to be able to just drop a bunch of files at once without interrupting your current playing file. Is there an option I don't have checked for this behavior? linsook
Preview 3 has updated bento skin and it's looking much better than the old preview builds...Amazing work IMO. Ya. everything is much easier to read now correct me if im wrong, but its exactly the same skin, just the window is scaled to 120% which was already possible to do with winamp in previous versions. mancode20
Thanks for posting! Lovin' the new Winamp 5.5 Preview Release 3!! The bigger text is a lot better and the album art works by just adding a cover into the directory where the music is stored. Got Springsteen's new album Magic playing with cover art. Can't wait til the final on 10/10.
Shof
correct me if im wrong, but its exactly the same skin, just the window is scaled to 120% which was already possible to do with winamp in previous versions. Well, here is what i notice: \ 1)Bento seems to be alitte brighter now because i remember early on it used to be darker 2)Tabs surround Media Library, Video, Visu., and Brower 3)The overall text inside the player like the artist, track title, total number songs got a recent change due to the "lighter" bento skin now. Again, as a recall they used to be much darker like forever look at this partial screenshot from beta2: \ Compare that, to what i posted above of the new winamp looked. Noticed how the overall text got lighter?
linsook
no, not really. anyways... you can adjust the size of winamp in windows settings > scaling. also the colour of bento, including fonts can be changed under options > colour themes. also to those who prefere other fonts, those can be customized aswell in the skin options. edit: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=276371 for new colour themes

Blackhearted
I really don't like how they made everything bigger in the bento skin in this new build. I want it back the way it was, everything feels too bulky now.

Mike Frett
That makes me want to switch back to Windows... I wish they'd make a Mac version. Have you tried XMMS?. It's a Winamp clone for Linux but I "think" it might be able to run on a Mac.
