NVIDIA ForceWare 163.71 Beta - Windows

Recommended Posts

Jesus ****, I just installed the last set of betas. With all do respect I really like that Nvidia is kicking ass and releasing new drivers but I think they should wait and bring out a giant list of fixes for a final set.

you complain now, when theres lots of updates and you know what? you would still be complaining if there were less updates.

installed these, working fine so far :)

I'm starting to like nVidia's release schedule. :D Much better than Creative (last X-Fi driver release was on May 30th). I just hope these updates aren't rushed and buggy.

And most important of all, we dont have to pay for them (Y)

Best drivers ever ... Well maybe not, but they are the best for a while :) Me Likes

It'd be different if it were FINAL releases...why not hold off on releasing a beta every week and compile a larger list of bug fixes rather than a small one.

because beta releases need to be tested.. with every new builds new fixes/changes to the driver could introduce new more bugs thus the continuous release of beta's until it gets to a stable point where a final driver is issued.

In a beta cycle i prefer little fixes often, rather than larger amount of fixes, less often.

also, no one is holdng a gun to your head saying install all these beta drivers.. a normal person need only to install whql drivers unless the beta fixes a specific problem that the user may be having, or you just want the latest and greatest, in which case you wouldn't be complaining about how often beta's are released :)

Cheers!

No big deal, upgrade to these if you're affected by something in their release notes. I don't see the problem with an update "too much". That's 100% a luxury problem.

Somehow my current configuration doesn't seems to like any new driver beyond 159.xx...

I'm on Windows XP x64 Pro.

What problems do you have? I've had to manually install the drivers on my x64 box for the last few releases because after the installer finished and I rebooted I would be greeted with a 800x600 16 bit locked desktop, but going to device manager and pointing it to the nv4_disp.inf fixes everything.
