Z71
the wall is great the theme is meh What is "meh". Is that some sort of whip topping? Or did you just pass out and couldn't finish the sentence? i'm afraid, alright. It worked. I'm glad you like it. You can download it for free, I appreciate you offering me money for it though. But you don't have to. It's my gift to you and everyone else, that's been so nice to me here. NightmarE D
If you can't take any bad criticism then don't post any themes you make on here. Plain and simple. If you're going to be a themer, you need to learn how to take criticism and you obviously can't. If people don't like it, they're going to be honest and tell you that. You should take what they say and get their opinion on what would make it better instead of posting a smartass comment because they didn't like the theme. You even got an attitude on WinCustomize when someone asked where they could get the wallpaper and you couldn't remember. Ever thought of looking in C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper\? When you apply wallpaper sometimes a copy goes there. Does it everytime on my system. The people here who don't like it were being nice in how they told you. They could easily have been a lot worse. I'll tell you straight up that any dark theme that uses orange makes me want to vomit. I know it's a Halloween theme, but IN MY OPINION dark themes with orange in them look like crap. Notice how I said IN MY OPINION? See how that works? That means that's MY THOUGHTS on your theme. Doesn't mean everyone else will agree with me. So do I get a similar reply that you gave others for giving my honest thoughts on your theme or you going to start respecting others opinions? I was trying to be humorous. That's the difference between some people. You can say something to someone and they'll laugh. Say the same thing to someone else and they flatten you on your ass. I was trying to keep the thread light and funny. Notice the whip topping and don't need to pay me bit. I thought it was funny. From now on, I know to be totally serious. No humor. Ever thought of looking in C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper\? When you apply wallpaper sometimes a copy goes there. Does it everytime on my system. Not on my machine. The people here who don't like it were being nice in how they told you. They could easily have been a lot worse. So could I. I decided to go the humorous route. Didn't work. So do I get a similar reply that you gave others for giving my honest thoughts on your theme No, plain and simple. wst50
Too bland taskbar wise. The writing on the buttons is not easy to read quickly beacuse it's either too light of not light enough (depending on the fade) 3/10 (10 being brilliant, 1 being awful) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/591895-hallows-eve-for-wb6-xp-vista-now-available/#findComment-588897048 Share on other sites

wst50
We don't hate WB. It's just an ugly skin. Nothing else to it. You attitude isn't helping you though. I lied. There was something else to it. But I won't reiterate it because you don't seem to like that. .Markus
Crikey, it's the night of the living PMS guys... :p Doesn't look too bad really... a bit of tweaking colour wise and maybe some enhancements overall, and I can see these poor lads singing a different tune Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/591895-hallows-eve-for-wb6-xp-vista-now-available/#findComment-588900198 Share on other sites
Dick Montage
Not the best skin ever. Possible suitable for demo of what a skin looked like a few years ago. It's not bad, but just a bit dated. I mean, the image in the shellstyle? It's a bit much really. Keep trying though, because WB is an excellent app. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/591895-hallows-eve-for-wb6-xp-vista-now-available/#findComment-588900205 Share on other sites
Winswy
I think its a good skin, obviously designed as a novelty for the holiday but this is a great example of the blanket mentality of a lot of users on this site and why the submissions of completed skins have dropped into the tank on Neowin recently. leo_the_lion
Yep, it is a good skin and well made. Unfortunately Neowin has more than it's fair share of those who jump on the bandwagon of 'Windowblinds Sucks' and use every opportunity to vent their ill informed opinions on any thread they can lay their hands on. Sad really. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/591895-hallows-eve-for-wb6-xp-vista-now-available/#findComment-588900295 Share on other sites

kylejn
Good effort, but it's not that great, in my opinion. You went overboard on the bevels and gradients, which seems to be a characteristic of many WindowBlinds themes, unfortunately, because it's a really powerful program that can put out some amazing results when utilized correctly. Also, a lot of missed opportunity within the theme for integrating the Halloween theme into it. For example, maybe use bony skeleton hands for the forward and back buttons, with a skull and crossbones for stop, or something like that. And the leaves are nice looking, but more evocative of fall rather than Halloween. Maybe put some pumpkins and jack o' lanterns in there? Wrong section, too, but just keep that in mind for the next time. Overall, good effort, but not my cup of tea. Thanks for the contribution, though! Z71
Thanks for the constructive comment. I get what you mean by using different elements to convey the Halloween traditions and look. Since I'm 1/2 Irish, I called it "Hallows Eve" which is very different from "Hallow'een". Here is a small description, for what I used as the basis of the theme: "Hallow Eve" is very popular in Ireland, where it is said to have originated, and is known in Irish as "O?che Shamhna" or "Samhain Night". Celts had an autumn festival, Samhain(pronounced /ˈsˠaunʲ/from the Old Irish samain), which means "End of Summer". Autumn Festival and End of Summer is the reason for not using the spooky ghosts, skulls or pumpkins in the theme and why I went more for a fall look. I hope this explains the look a little better.:)) Also, this windowblind is 3 years old. I didn't update any of the "old" graphics. I just added the Vista features to it, because of the holidays. It would look, I would hope alot better, if I updated the windowblind completely.
