semifamous Posted June 11, 2003 Share Posted June 11, 2003 The first digit is x the second digit is y So the number is 10x +y /add the first and second digits (x+y) /and subtract them from the number. 10x+y - (x+y) = 10x + y - x - y = 9x So the answer wil always be a multiple of 9.
