-=}{oT~dEv1L 666=-
Welcome to the third and updated version of -=}{oT~dEv1L 666=-’s HQ’s own Windows XP to Vista Transformation Tutorial, which is one of the best “make XP look like Vista” tutorials out there. You see, I can’t find any good ones out there, so I created one myself. WARNING!: The Author of this tutorial will not responsible for anything that happens to your PC by following the instructions of this tutorial. Every step in this tutorial is explained as clearly as possible and if you do not follow the instructions closely, you risk having a half-baked PC which looks like a fusion of Windows XP and Vista. If you think you’re ready, you can move on… STEP 1 - WINDOWBLINDS First, download or buy a copy of Stardock Object Desktop’s WindowBlinds. This is very crucial if you want to achieve the Windows Vista Aero Glass look. A Sidenote for WindowBlinds 5.5 Users who are using Windows Vista Please note that only WindowBlinds 5.5 and newer supports Windows Vista. STEP 2 - VISTA TRANSFORMATION PACK Next, download Windows X’s Vista Transformation Pack 7.0 from the link provided below. Extract/UnZIP the Archive, then Install. Make sure you install everything included in the package, including the WindowBlinds “Aero Glass” Theme. After Installation, you will be required to restart Windows. After your computer has been restarted, you will be able to configure your Vista Transformation Pack options in the Vista Transformation Pack Welcome Center. To use Windows X’s Aero Style skin, click on “Configure User Account”, then on “Configure Vista Theme”. Choose to install the “Aero Glass” theme, then you will be asked to restart. Do so before proceeding to STEP 3. STEP 3 - OTHER ESSENTIALS What would be Windows Vista without Windows Flip 3D, Window Transitions and Games? For the Windows Flip 3D effect, Otaku Software’s TopDesk will do the job. Get it Here. For the Windows Sidebar found in Windows Vista, as well as the Windows Vista Screensavers, the links can be found below. For the Window Transitions, WindowFX is the best candidate among all the other programs out there. Get yourself a Trial copy, which is good enough from Here. Now, for the games. Jonathan Wilson has found a way to run Windows Vista games on a Windows XP machine. The blog post he has written can be found Here.
