* Eset Smart Security

* Upgrades from Eset NOD32 v2.7 to Eset Smart Security

Please note - Consumer and home-user versions launch November 5th - our Business versions are launching slightly later - currently expected to be the 25th of November!

Version three (3.0) is a free upgrade to all existing customers, featuring enhanced security and a powerful, intuitive interface.

In order to upgrade from NOD32 v2.7 to V3.0, you just have to wait until the 5th of November, and then visit our website for download location and update instructions. Updates from v2.7 to v3.0 are FREE of charge!

Please note - v2.7 NOD32 will remain a supported product for the foreseeable future, as v3.0 is available to Windows XP and higher operating systems. If you are using an older operating system than Windows XP (ie, Windows ME, 98, 95, Windows 2000 etc.), you will remain using NOD32 v2.7 - no upgrade is possible to v3.0 for legacy operating systems.

This brand new product from ESET, makers of NOD32 antivirus, contains all the award winning functionality of Eset NOD32 Antivirus v3.0 - PLUS - an advanced firewall and spam filtration in order that you might protect your system better than ever!

Unlike other 'suite' products, where extra features means extra bulk. ESET's revolutionary design is slim and smart - both firewall and spam filter were built from the ground up to act as seamless extensions of their trusted antivirus system, NOD32.

If you would like to PRE-ORDER Upgrades from v2.7 please order our upgrade products. Here is how the licensing works for upgrades:

Your existing license has time left - you purchase a RENEWAL product for either 1 or 2 years - this time is ADDED to your remaining v2.7 license - ie, if you have 2 months left and purchase a 1 year Eset Smart Security Renewal, the license supplied will be valid for 2 + 12 months = 14 months of protection!

there is a difference between resource consumption and on-access scanning performance....the noticed slowdowns with antivirus software is because of the scanning performance of an engine when files are accessed

I would love to see a comparison between NOD32 3.0 and KAV 7.0.....maybe I'll do one myself :3

What my question is this: KAV or NOD32 (latest versions for both as of 10/31/07)?

I am just wondering which is better. I am liking the new NOD32 screenshots alot. (Y)

I've never used KAV, I've heard it's good though.

All I can say is I've been using NOD32 for over a year, and I've been really happy. :) Fast and light!

Alright, so this is a new day and my computer was off all night... still over 40 MB

I'm XP x64, perhaps that makes a difference for this program?

I think I'm gonna need a reformat soon.. either the new logmein or diskeeper has been causing me a lot of problem.

Guys, does NOD32 Antivirus V3.0 still have IMON (Internet MONitor in V2.7)? Or has it been removed and repackaged into ESET Smart Security V3.0 (ESET Personal Firewall)?

ESET Personal Firewall

• Firewall monitors all traffic between a protected computer and other computers in the local network and in the Internet. High quality protection is provided by the following functions:

• Scanning of application protocols HTTP and POP3 (used for Internet browsing and for retrieving email from servers) for infiltrations.
