Dirty Playstation Kid Responds To Conspiracy Theories

Reid Godshaw, the Dirty PlayStation Kid? has contacted PlayThree.net to debunk the conspiracy theories against him. He states that he is a long time Sony consumer, a genuine customer, and categorically denies being paid to attack Sony.

Reid Godshaw is the all-American kid who shot to notoriety when his PlayStation 3 broke. Sony refused to fix it claiming it was too dusty. However gamers began to get suspicious because pictures of his PS3 showed a console that wasn't just dusty, but actually covered in a thick layer of dirt. Eager gamers then discovered that the Dirty PlayStation Kid? was a bit-part actor. Conspiracy theories suggested that his whole story was a big set-up against Sony intended to damage consumer confidence in them. Speculation then turned to who was the puppet master. Could it be a rival console maker?

NO. Godshaw has written an emotional post to PlayThree.net to share his side of the story. He says "Yes im an actor, No i definitely have never appeared on Fox News ever before. No i wasnt paid or encouraged by anyone to attack Sony." He goes on to say "First off, I emailed this to Consumerist as soon as i was told that in order to get pictures of my system i would have to subpoena them. Yes I'm an actor, No that doesn't mean i just go out and buy a new console, or just dish out 150$ to have them dust my 600$ console off. I did what i thought was necessary." Perhaps if you thought it necessary to wipe a cloth over your PS3 once in a blue moon all of this could've been avoided?!

Reid Godshaw I am glad to set the record straight, and link to your crap. Please let us know what is happening with Sony and your PlayStation 3, I want to know how this story ends. And don't be too upset by all the press, your IMDB star rating is up 6000% which means film executives will be taking note. Maybe next year we will get to see you in the Christmas PS3 ads?

Can you even accumulate that much dust in 1 year? Its like he decided to shake out his air conditioning filter over his console.

Or his vacuum... jeez, my room gets quite dusty, and my ps3 is no where near as bad as that

I really hope sony dont give him another one as its his own dam fault for not keeping it clean etc. It dont take 30 seconds to get a vacume and vacume around the area and gently blow it out now and again.

The only way it can get that dusty is due to neglect as not even my home server which lives on the floor gets that dusty!

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say Joss sticks - because I doubt that any fine young actor would have anything else smoking in his home that would create as much muck. :shifty:

More like genius...but then again you've got a ps3 as your signature.

How is he a genius?

...because it's "killing" a Playstation 3 so to speak. His sarcasm was a bit dry on that one.

Kid's a fool though. Electronics accumulate dust, but that bad boy looks like it sat through an Iraqi dust storm!

He's not being paid, it could definitely be a stunt on his part to garner attention for his career. No way in hell someone let's something get that disgustingly dirty that isn't 'dust' that's dirt... this incident has gotten him more attention than his acting career ever would have.
