Bobby Petrino will resign his position as coach of the Atlanta Falcons and is close to an agreement to become the new coach at the University of Arkansas, multiple sources tell ESPN.

According to sources, Petrino and his agent have been talking with the Falcons about his preference to return to the college ranks. The former Louisville coach was looking for an opportunity to break into the Southeastern Conference ranks, and Arkansas was a natural fit.

There is no deal yet between Petrino and Arkansas, but once there is, Petrino is expected to be paid around $3 million a year, sources said.

Just keeps getting better and better for my Falcons. Damn.

No coach, no QB, WR's flashing shirts with "Free Mike Vick"... what a pathetic organization...

I live in Charlotte. Need I say more about the Panthers and our Q.B's?

Yeah, but at least you get Del Homie back next season - we're without Ookie forever. Who does that leave us Harrington or Leftwich - the two ugly girls who couldn't get dates to the prom? Or Redman who was so in demand that he was selling insurance last season? All that really leaves is DJ Shockley (from my alma mater! Go Dawgs!) ubt that is still a huge unknown.
