ticktack
can't move the progress slider at all in wmp12 when video files are open from the 'frequent' files list under the pinned wmp icon. But the same files opened when navigating the its location are fine, the slider works and everything seems normal. another bug? solutions? Does anyone else have problems with subtitles on wmp12?It is a player's bug or a codec bug? Subtitles seem to work fine for me. But I have a 3rd party codecs installed Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/611956-windows-media-player-12/page/8/#findComment-590493210 Share on other sites
bradavon
Sorry if this has been answered. Any word when WMP12 will be out for Vista and XP? I presume XP is going to get it? Thanks. I'd like to run WMP12 on my main (Vista) PC. We know IE8 is out soon but what about WMP12? neo1911
Man WMP12 is such a mess right now. What the heck happened to the tag editor? I can't even find a way to put in album art or edit detailed tag information like in WMP11. The Taskbar popup buttons are almost useless considering even laptop keyboards have shortcuts for pausing, next, and previous now. What we need is a seekbar, maybe some way to access the current playlist directly from the popup (not sure if it's possible), and at least SHOW THE NAME OF THE FRIGGIN SONG PLAYING in the preview title bar! Well for me WMP12 is one step backward. To sum it up its Crap state now. They need to fix all those tag editing problems Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/611956-windows-media-player-12/page/8/#findComment-590671460 Share on other sites
tsupersonic
I am impressed by the changes in WMP12. Anyone know how to extract the Bars visualization (and other visualizations) from WMP12 and apply it to XP's WMP11? TheNGTV
Zune 3.0 was always the real "WMP 12" to me. Why oh why MS can't you use THAT as the default instead? :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/611956-windows-media-player-12/page/8/#findComment-590682948 Share on other sites

bradavon
Vista and 7? Yes. XP? No. Is that confirmed? I did imagine WMP12 will only be for Vista, W7 and W2008. MS should've done that with IE8 but there is a lot more riding on that one. Robin.B
What has happened to the advanced tag editor and synchronized lyrics editor? They've ditched it. No joke - worst move in the world. bradavon
I hate how they've ditched "Paste Album Art" too. Why? I don't understand. It's really useful. In WMP11 I go to Amazon, copy Album Art and Paste it in. DiEMOS
I don't understand why would people use WMP11 or 12 or 13 for that matter, when Media Player CLASSIC is 10 times lighter and better or you want something sexy go with XBMC with AEON skin. WMP sucks IMO, sorry. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/611956-windows-media-player-12/page/8/#findComment-590864158 Share on other sites

Phixion
Does anyone know how I should be tagging my "Various Artists" music to list properly in WMP12? Currently they are spread all over the place in order of artist. All of my other music is listed fine, this is the only issue I'm having. I'm guessing I need to add a "Various Artists" tag to a FIELD other than "ALBUM ARTIST" which I'm currently using... EDIT: I'm also experiencing issue with 720p playback, WMP seems to have locked you into using their own codecs in WMP and the HD decoder gives very choppy playback, my CPU and memory usage stays low but I still get choppy video, any ideas on what I can do to fix this? Phixion
I fixed my issue, problem was I was using ID3v2.4 tags and WMP didn't recognise the "BAND" tag that you need for Various Artists to list correctly. You need to use ID3v2.3 and a BAND field with Various Artists in.
