Hey,

I'm after a way to create a raid 0 array from 4 1gb usb flash disks. I know there is a way to do it in XP but vista doesnt seem to have the same options :(

(there is nothing in the disk managment snap-in about creating a new volume or creating raid so far as i can see)

Any one know of a way to create a software raid in vista?

if not, does anyone know if vista would recognise the raid array if i created it using xp (xp being installed on either a seperate machien or on a partition of my main drive using dual boot)?

Thanks everyone.

An what version of vista do you have?

I can say for a fact that at least ultimate supports stipped software arrays. (raid 0)

Why you would want to do what your asking, I have no freaking idea -- but sure you can do it.

Just out of curiosity..

How did you get that screenshot?

I think my current pc may be set up like that because it had to be because of motherboard requirements. D:

Well since this thread is over a year old, I do not recall exactly -- but pretty sure it was a virtual machine since I was not running vista directly on hardware a year ago. As to the software used to take the shot, that would of been faststone capture.

As your being setup with a software raid 0 stripe "because it had to be because of motherboard requirements" Well that nonsense to be sure.
