Windows Vista successor scheduled for a H2 2009 release?

Better loading times on XP may be due to the precaching of applications during the load (prefetch).

And about the loading times on linux... My personal experience with linux, is that it's a bunch of beta-ish packages from totaly different sources duck-taped together.

If there was one "Linux", and all developers would work on that particular distribution... I imagine the performances would be better.

Third party support too, but I'm already offtopic now ;)

Yeah. Offtopic.

There is one Linux. I think you mean that you want me to remove my fluxbox and use the new only UI, Gnome (or whatever you would pick as the one desktop for all to use).

No thanks. I am happy just the way my PC is

Sorry for the offtopic and maybe for trolling, but i just can't miss to agree with this one. Well said my friend.

I use Windows since 95 and I always try out new liveCD-s (last time Kubuntu with KDE4): I want a strong alternative so much, but I just can't seem to find one. I'm not a fanboy, I'm just missing a real competition in the OS market, which would result innovations and skyhigh quality.
